More character art, using the template crafted by Tounushi and its derived templates and graphics. This may be found on my deviantArt page as well.
Aurora Beaumont, later Aurora Maryann Meshcheryakov, born February 3245. The younger sister of the famed war hero and general Celeste Beaumont, Aurora was very much her sibling's opposite: a hotheaded, tomboyish, technophobic adrenaline junkie. She joined the Army and fought in the Great War in the artillery and later in mechanised infantry, and led the legendary Lonely Hearts squad, before being honourably discharged in 3272. After some contract work, wherein she suffered a leg injury that required amputation and cybernetic replacement, she caught up with fellow Lonely Hearts veteran Artem Meshcheryakov and they began a whirlwind romance. They moved in together on his homeworld Keystone but they broke up amidst disagreement over her decision to enlist in the colonial police. Beaumont rose to become a detective and then Captain of the homicide desk in the Hauberk Metro police. She was a lead investigator into a government official's assassination during the early stages of the 3280 Keystone Incident, and later led recovery efforts as the only effective leadership figure in the HMPD after the bombing of Hauberk. She was appointed Commissioner of the metropolitan police after the chaos subsided. During this time, she reconnected with Meshcheryakov and they patched up their differences; they married in 3281 and she gave birth to twins, Dmitri and Cassiopeia. A year later, he was elected planetary governor in a democratic election. She would later be promoted to Commissioner of the provincial police for East Norden in 3290, a position she held until her tragic death in an automotive accident while on vacation in 3296.

The image shows her in her Army combat fatigues in 3267 (left), and in her formal Colonial Police service uniform in 3290 (right).

A while back, I wanted to do a TLIAW that explored Thatchers being killed in Brighton (tactfully called 'Thatcher Plus Debris'). This was to be the image that appeared above each update, with each face being coloured in from white with every new update:

From Left to Right: M. Thatcher, W. Whitelaw, H. Heseltine, N. Kinnock, W. Hague, I.D. Smith, P. Mandelson, A. Campbell, L. Fox, and Y. Cooper.

Whilst I'm unlikely to really do anything with the idea in the future, the style of the graphic itself will probobly reappear at some point soon.

Utilising some templates from before, as well as parts borrowed directly from the dA user DalTT to make the robotic body. Another "character" profile.

Commander Damien Daniels of the Central Galactic Space Forces, a highly decorated robotic LASS operator (equivalent to a US Navy SEAL, but in space) and demolitions expert. Originally an AI employed as an analyst in Naval Intelligence, "Damien" requested combat duty and the onboarding of his intelligence matrix into a mobile platform. He served in the elite 71st Studies and Observations Group, colloquially known as "Beaumont's Raiders", a legendary special forces unit of the Great War. He split off to command his own unit, the 72nd SOG, nicknamed "Devil's Sons". He and his unit were stationed aboard the special operations frigate HMSV (later SVFF) Barb, captained by Henrietta Daniels. They were married in 3270, and he took her surname.

On a different note, and with far shittier results compared to my last post, this is a bar graph showing the results of every General Election held in the UK since the War. I sunk far to much time into this, and I'm highly suspect I've cocked up on several of the bars.

Lonely Hearts.png
Junior General scale, a set of characters from my book.
A few chapters follow a group called the Lonely Hearts squad, a rifle squad from a Terran Imperial Army Cavalry Corps dragoons squadron. They become famed for their grit and skill, unique among such a small sized unit, and all of its members are very highly decorated infantrymen. But their luck runs out and many of them die in the course of a vicious battle on an alien planet named Khoz Prime. The unit received a lot of press later on in the story due to some of its surviving members becoming famous from post-war work.
Its members as of the Battle of Khoz:
Staff Sergeant Edward Malcolm Pepper (b. 3234, d. 3267), leader of the squad. Stalwart, honest, and courageous goody-two-shoes. Committed suicide at the Battle of Khoz after euthanising a fellow squadmate. It was covered up in official reports as sniper fire.
Corporal Richard Peterson O'Toole (b. 3232, d. 3267), squad XO and field medic. Taciturn and surly, with a well-hidden past. Committed suicide at Khoz after suffering severe trauma, setting off a bundle of grenades that blows up an ammo cache, killing several other soldiers.
Corporal (later Sergeant) Artem Yuryevich Meshcheryakov (b. 3238), head of the squad's weapons team. A cool-headed designated marksman, he took up leadership of the squad after Pepper's death and led it through the rest of the Battle of Khoz.
Lance Corporal Jayne C. Rossum (incept 3237, destroyed 3267), squad grenadier. An openly sociopathic robot who was gangpressed into the Army after a life of crime. Destroyed in battle, the only real combat death of the unit.
Specialist Daniel McRogers (b. 3240), field medic. The squad's emotional and sensitive field medic, an old friend of O'Toole's, and skilled with antiarmour weapons. Suffered a nervous breakdown after the death of O'Toole and sat the rest of the battle out in an infirmary.
Specialist William Jakodi "Billy" McGrady (b. 3243), lead scout. A depraved sociopath, though he hides it well, the second son of a prestigious and wealthy MP in the Imperial Parliament. McGrady was given an honourable discharge from the Army after the Battle of Khoz and became a Strategic Intelligence agent and later officer, being appointed Director of Field Operations in the new State Security ministry and made a General.
Specialist Hannah Crescentia "Zenzi" Rothschild (b. 3243), squad RTO and technician. The daughter of a wealthy noble family from the Inner Colonies, and would-be high school sweetheart of Billy McGrady. She later also became an intelligence agent, married William McGrady, and had a flourishing career in the Central civil service.
Private First Class Ophelius Greene (b. 3240), rifleman and scout. A poor boy from Earth and a virulent human supremacist. Was injured in the Battle of Khoz, but later returned to duty and commanded the squad in its last years (3270-3275).
Private First Class Lucy van Marten (b. 3250, squad automatic rifleman. An illegal android built for sexual purposes by a rakish nobleman, van Marten was seized during a raid of her owner's home and became a ward of the state, pressed into military service. She was euthanised by Sergeant Pepper after her mind deteriorated and she began having dissociative identity episodes that endangered the entire squad.

Here's an example highway sign that conforms to a map I was working on for my Commonwealth of New England. I have a whole set of highway signage.

gvV4CVW.png

P9Qb9Ap.png

This is the full-res version of the sign. The top banner is state-dependent. The "National Highway" at the bottom stays on all signage of the New England National Highway Network. The numbering convention is very simple, it's allocated by state:
Connecticut 10-19
Rhode Island 20-29
Massachusetts 30-39
Adirondack 40-49
Vermont 50-59
New Hampshire 60-69
Maine 70-79
Maritimes 80-89

Each highway has a defined terminal and terminus. NE-10, for example, begins in Bridgeport, Connecticut and ends in Saratoga Springs, Adirondack. Throughout CT, MA, VT, and AD it is numbered as Highway 15. The numbering is thus based off the terminus. NE-10 begins in Connecticut, giving it the 1 in 10, and it runs North-South, which assigns it to an even number. Odd numbers run East-West.

There are no Highways 1-9. No province has more than 10 routes, although if need be, it would just add another number. For example, New Hampshire would use up NE60-NE69 and it then would roll over to NE601-NE699.

That's a really, really cool graphic. Would you be willing to make it for others?

Yes, I would be fine making something in the same style for others, though it comes down really to who the figure is. Most of that is just me tracing over a pre-existing image, but there is an issue when the person in question has a smooth-baby face.

Well, the official replacement logo for the Tokyo Olympics was unveiled a few months ago. Now a loop of squares and rectangles with unhappy lines of symmetry. News of it passed me by, but after the mishap with the first design being binned because of alleged plagiarism I set about having a go at its replacement myself. Co-ordinated colour splits echoing the Olympic colours and the pair of "o's" in Tokyo, and the pair of zeros in 2020, I looped the top right of the k to left hand leg of the y to be similar to the black ring. They have an interesting media centre as proposed, with signicant overhangs on the upper floors and this logo echoes in part the design of this iconic building and maybe the shape of the top of an Olympic torch.

Yeh another character. This is Sarah Sterling, known publicly as Silver Fox, an officer of the Interstellar Police. She is a member of the legendary Action Team 47, better known as Silver Team, an elite special counterterror and special investigation unit of the Interstellar Criminal Police Commission. Sterling was previously an intern at the ballistics laboratory of Dr. Artem Meshcheryakov on the planet Keystone when she was brought in as a consultant on high-profile homicide investigations in 3280. She left the planet to join the ICPC and was inducted into Silver Team after the infamous Keystone Incident.
Unbeknownst to all but a few individuals, she is a Berber girl named Akeelah who was bred by a government project to be a psionic prodigy and analytical savant. In late 3274, she survived a vehicle accident in the Lunar wilderness, and was rescued by agents of a rival department, who sought to help her rehabilitate. She was given a new name and was shipped far away to the Outer Colonies, under protective observation, where she became a college student and librarian. In the chaos of the Keystone Incident, she escaped observation and joined the Interstellar Police to finally gain a measure of freedom.

The Silver Team is a ragtag bunch of misfit Space Police investigators, renowned for their quirkiness and eccentricity but also for their effectiveness and clean, by-the-book methodology. Their members publicly go by their animal-themed call-signs, and often have custom equipment and outfits based around their callsigns. Consisting of less than a hundred sworn officers, they reside in a mobile space station called the Silver Menagerie.

And yet another Silver Team member, police Captain Krokken Fraugg, callsign "Silver Ape". Born in the 3020s in a kuhn (his species) reservation in the Sagittarian Empire, he lived a mercenary life for two centuries before crushing guilt for his atrocities crippled him emotionally. He repented through volunteering for public service in the Sagittarian Marines and then in the Sagittarian Space Police Force. He became a member of Silver Team in the early 3270s, before it was merged into the Central Galactic Union's ICPC. As he was born as a free alien, he retains certain privileges that are considered civil rights for humans, such as the ability to serve in the Central Galactic Government, and to use a firearm. Nevertheless, Captain Fraugg usually doesn't use guns and prefers to use electrified axes in close combat.
