Update: BEFORE READING, UNDERSTAND THAT THIS IS MY FIRST SCENARIO AND JS NOT ACCURATE, BUT ME EXPRESSING STATE PRIDE. PLEASE STOP GETTING MAD IN THE COMMENTS! THANK YOU!

In 1912, instead of becoming a state, the Arizona Territory votes to leave the US. The vote wins, 72% Yes, 28% No. The Arizona Territory exits the US, and because there was no rule for territories about secession, the US can take no legal action. The First Republic of Arizona is born! In 1914, WW1 breaks out. Arizona and Mexico side with the Central Powers. The USA sees them as a threat and invades. This brings the USA and The Central Powers to war. Arizona is quickly occupied, but is liberated by Mexican and German forces. Soon the entire west coast is occupied. German, Arizonan, and Mexican troops march across the Plains until they get to the Mississippi. Once they reach the Mississippi, the War is basically over. Germany has gotten France to surrender, and the Bolsheviks have taken Russia out of the war. As CP troops cross the Mississippi, The USA surrenders.

Treaty of Phoenix:
Section 1: The states of California Utah, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, and Idaho cede to Arizona.
Section 2: Any state not before mentioned in Section 1 that is located West of the Mississippi River is ceded to the United States of Mexico.
Section 3: The Republic of Old America becomes the recognized name of America.
Section 4: RoOA will pay 10 million USD in war reparations to Arizona and Mexico.
Section 5: The USA will revoke all claims on its former territories.
Section 6: Mexico shall henceforth be known as "The Mexican Empire."
Section 7: Arizona shall henceforth be known as "The Empire of Arizona."

Signatories: Arizona, America, Mexico, German Empire

Signed: April 10th, 1917.

After the treaty of Phoenix, things calmed down. Britain surrendered shortly after the Treaty of Phoenix was signed. Britain surrendered on April 26th, 1917. The Treaty of Berlin was much less harsh.

Treaty of Berlin:
Section 1: France will revoke cores on Alsace-Lorraine.
Section 2: Russia will cede all of its Polish lands to the German Empire.
Section 3: The Entente will pay war reparations to all members of the Central Powers.
Section 4: A Time of Enforced peace will last until August 2nd, 1920.

In 1925, Austria collapsed as well as the Ottoman Empire. Arizona gained claims on Canadian lands as well as Mexico. Also, due to it being hard to send supplies to its Pacific Islands, The USA cedes all of its pacific islands (+Alaska) to Arizona.

A few years later, "The Arizonan-Canadian War of Imperialism" begins. Arizona declares war on Canada. A few days after the declaration of war, Mexico declares war. July 8th, 1925. Canada surrenders.

Treaty of Mexico City:
Section 1: Arizona will gain Alberta, British Columbia, Northwestern Territories, and Yukon Territories.
Section 2:Mexico will recieve every province not mentioned already that is west of the Great Lakes.
Section 3: Canada will henceforth and forevermore be known as "United Provinces of Quebec, Ontario, Nova Scotia, and New Brunzwick."
Section 4: Canada will pay war reparations to Arizona.

Peace lasted until 1964, when rebellions popped up all over Mexican Canada, Arizonan Canada, and Mexican America. Americans and Canadians stood United against the two powers. Eventually, Arizona gave up its Canadian territory. Mexican had to give up everything except Texas and New Mexico. UPQONSNB reforms back into Canada. America becomes "The United States of America" again. In 2001, Arizona loses a ton of states to America because of rebellions. Arizona is now just Arizona, California, Nevada, and Utah. The Second Mexican American war happens. After it's over, The USA gets Texas and New Mexico back. In 2008, The USA invades Arizona after a radical Islamic terrorist born in Arizona crashes a plane into one of the Twin Towers, causing it to collapse. Arizona is annexed by 2016.

Thank you for reading this. I know it was long but it was my first one so please don't judge! Have a great day!

First of all.

Germany in North America. Lol. They couldn't even get out of Europe.

Second of all. Mexico defeating the United States. Lol.

Third of all. Arizona had no reason to secede and was fully American. Lol.

Arizona had less than a million people. They can't possibly occupy the entire west coast. Lol.

I'm done.

I want whatever you've been having.

What is the basis for Arizona leaving the U.S.? It is OWNED by the U.S. and was only granted territory status by Congress after passing several standard hurdles. It doesn't have the RIGHT to secede. The U.S. Government would not allow it to secede.

My only concern is that the Territory of AZ was a creation of the U.S. Congress and as such had no 'right' to secede.. The Territory was created as a step towards statehood not as a means of self determination for the people of the area.

Territories of the US have no sovereignty on their own; the principals of secession exercised half a century before related to the states in the union retaining a portion of their own sovereignty after acceding to the union. Any territory created from non-sovereign, colonial land (of which Arizona was) would have been the total property of the federal government; statehood was granted when the state met certain criteria.

Edit: Either way, just trying to be helpful. Welcome to the forum! One only gets better at stories through practice, so do keep at it. Let's just try to be helpful, guys.
