Gran Colombia: An American History

Chapter 1:Bolivar Live!
After several attempts to assassinate Simon Bolivar, the Republic of Colombia was at a very critical moment for Venezuela, since Colombia, hung on by a thread for the separatists both Venezuelans, Colombians and Ecuadorians. Simon Bolivar, conducted some appeasement campaigns with more or less, 7,000 soldiers of the Gran Colombia. The most critical rebellions that almost caused the Republic of Colombia to be divided was the Insurrection of Quibor, in which more than 800 peasants took up arms against President Bolivar's troops. Finally, after several bloody conflicts against Quibor, they were finally destroyed by some 1,400 local militiamen.

Then, Bolivar called elections on February 5, 1833, which won (69% of approximate percentage) and the consequences were bloody. On February 14 of that same year, Juan Carlos Valadeira, a former patriot soldier who fought for Simon Bolivar himself, rebelled in Cúcuta, with some 300 ex-patriots who fought, not for a Colombia, but for a Venezuela. These were massacred by the Grancolombino army (some 4,000 soldiers) who at that time were not very well trained. In 1837, Bolivar began to have a disease that in 1843, would end his life. Although there was quite a desire for freedom on the part of the three Governors, the Republic of Colombia lasted through the years.

Now, we will not talk about the past, but about the present, the year 1915, the year where everything for me started

So bolivar living could have prevented Venezuela from breaking off?
