Gott Mit Uns - Alternative twentieth century

Anyways, technically it's not that after 1900, but the POD is so close, I decided it'd go better here.

The POD is in 1887, where doctors operate successfully on Frederick III rather than doing a somewhat shoddy job like in OTL. A year later, rather than dying, the Kaiser is still a healthy living man. However, his fathers health is declining. Wilhelm I manages to grasp onto life a bit longer than in OTL and perishes Christmas day, 1888. Frederick III is coroneted as the new Kaiser of the German Empire in January. At the same time, Georges Boulanger in France launches a successful coup in France after being egged on to so so by his supporters, declaring himself (or being coerced to do so) as President of the Fourth French Republic. The stage is set for the twentieth century.

...damn.

Well, I think I can still do this TL, it's just that I'll have to be a bit more...inventive.

I was thinking of a Franz Ferdinand-ruled Austria to top it off...

I was actually thinking of killing Frederick III in 1906...

Well, although obviously the effects are primarily on the upcoming 20th century, I don't think you can really argue that this belongs in the post-1900 board. If the POD was on December 31st, 1899, then sure you'd have a case. In this circumstance, though, I think it really does belong in pre-1900,as there are substantial effects within that time, and the POD is years before 1900.

Just my own opinion.

Well, I could artificially prolong Wilhelm I's life until to 1899... He'd certainly be a mighty old man...he'd have died at 102. Though I guess that's a possible age...just extremely unlikely.
