Hmm, chaos perhaps, or some of Tito's ministers or generals would just take over. I don't think Stalin would have been able get a pro- Soviet leader in power.

When??
Shortly after informbiro ressolution, it would be Ranković or Kardelj.
If someone else assasinated Tito post 1966/67, Kardelj would be new "president" (he was meant to be after Tito, but he died before him).

Well you tell me, when could Stalin (1878-1953) have done it?

If Stalin had a gun or a knife in his pockets whenever this picture was taken he might have been able to quickly assassinate Tito.

Well, he could have done it before his death, obviously...
After his death, you may have one of his succesor (loyal to Stalins way) have done it.
But Tito wrote Stalin a letter that if Tito want to assasinate him, he woulld have to send only one person to Soviet Union to get the job done (unlike Stalins numerous attemps).
:D

Did I just gave you idea of Yugoslavs assasinating Stalin??

I read the quote on Wiki too, I don't know if Tito really had a chance given the more paranoid atmosphere inside the USSR, and the threat could have just been a joke or a bluff. Feel free to start a thread about it, but you'd have to specify a date. The exact day in 1948-49 when Tito buys it is not too important, but the same cannot be said for Stalin - big decisions were made in those years.
