After spending some six months mostly reading what other people have done and offering an advice here and there I have decided to make my first timeline.
Due to beeing my first I chose to do something closer to home (though I am already planing an alternate migration to Britania). I will be writing a timeline centred around Croatia, from medieval times to the present more or less.
The theme I would like to keep is that Croatia manages to remain ruled by local rather than foreign rulers and second I would like them to be very connected with the papacy, a very religious but also very militaristic/oportunistic people.
Before I plunge into writing I would like to hear your thoughts on the POD.
My current considerations are:
- following the migration from little Poland in the first half of the 7th century
- during the Ljudevit revolt late second, early third decade of the 9th century
- in 879. when pope racognised Croatian independence from the East Frankish empire
- following the death of king Tomislav
- following the death of king Zvonimir
The POD must happen before 1102 when Hungary and Croatia formed personal union centred on Koloman.
