A View of Barcelona
A dynastic marriage with Princess Eleanor of England, daughter of King Edward I of England, was arranged with Alfonso of Aragon. Alfonso III of Aragon married Eleanor of England on the Barcelona Cathedral on 1292.

This meant that the Kingdom of Aragon will be allied with England as long as Eleanor of England lives, she decided that the King of Aragon and the King of England should be crusading to Jerusalem and regain Jerusalem from the Saracens on 1292 which caused England and Aragon to focus and create a new war to regain Jerusalem.

Suddenly Eleanor of England found out that she is pregnant and the King was overjoyed and gave birth to a daughter named Eleanor of Aragon on 1293 and the other, a son named Edward on 1295 and another son named Alfonso in 1296.

On 1294, It was arranged that a Princess of France should marry the King of England, Edward the Longshanks, however the Queen Dowager of France, Maria of Brabant decided to marry Edward the Longshanks herself and her daughter, Margaret should marry Edward, the son of Edward the Longshanks, eventhough the consummation of the marriage would happen later after 1300, the double marriage was celebrated on 1295 and the plan to go crusading on Jerusalem was realized, the English and Aragonese army is on Acre on 1296 and the crusaders came to Palestine on 1296 and the city of Acre was besieged and regained by the English and Aragonese troops from the sarracens.

Elisabeth Richeza of PolandIn the mean time on Poland On 1294 Margaret of Brandenburg, Queen of Poland felt some nausea and it was said that she is pregnant, Margaret of Brandenburg gave birth to a son in 1294 which she named Boleslaw.

The coronization of Przemysl II of Poland took place on June 26, 1295 in Poznan at Gniezno Cathedral, suddenly Princess Richeza of Poland found herself as one of the great choices as a wife of a King of any country as her father was just crowned as King, Przemysl II decided to thank Henry V the fat of Silesia by giving Henry V the Fat Wielun and Helena of Silesia, the daughter of Henry the Fat should marry Boleslaw, the son Przemysl, Przemysl helped Henry the Fat in the subjugation of Wroclaw and on 1297 hearing that there is a crusade to Jerusalem, Przemysl II of Poland asked that Henry V the Fat should join Przemysl in the crusade to Jerusalem but before that Richeza of Poland is married to Prince Wenceslaus, the son of Wenceslaus II in order to end the occupation of Krakow by Wenceslaus II of Bohemia but the consummation would happen on the age of majority of Prince Wenceslaus, on later 1297 while embarking to the Crusade ,his daughters Jadwiga and Euphemia are left to the Duke of Carinthia in order to marry Otto and Albert of Carinthia respectively.

Andrew II of Hungary wanted to secure a betrothal to one of his daughters, knowing that the King of Naples is also wanting the throne of Hungary, he decided that his daughter Elisabeth of Hungary to go to Aragon as a bride, unfortunately Andrew II of Hungary died on 1297 because Andrew II of Hungary was killed by nobles who hated him but Elisabeth of Hungary has been sent to Aragon before the time of his death.

The Polish King, Przemysl II and his men including Henry V, Duke of Silesia met with Edward II, King of England and Alfonso III, King of Aragon on the crusade on 1298, on which they are very awkward to each other at first but little by little they started to like each other on the crusade.

After the defeat in the hands of the crusaders, Al-Nasir Muhammad felt very nervous, anxious and depressed because of the shame of losing in the hands of the people he consider as heathen dogs.

On 1298 However, at this point, Alfonso III is clear at what he wants, he wants to conquer Mainland Sicily and annex it to the Crown of Aragon, clearly he wants to restore the rights of his mother to the Sicilian throne and also he hears of the news of the arrival of the Hungarian Queen in Barcelona to marry one of his sons.

On the later part of 1298, Alfonso III told to his messengers that his youngest son, Alfonso should marry Elisabeth of Hungary, the De Jure Queen of Hungary and help him expel the Anjous in Mainland Sicily completely and help Elisabeth of Hungary regain the throne which was stolen from her, he talked to Eleanor of England about how would they care for the Hungarian Queen in the Aragonese court and how would they raise her as, however, the Dowager Queen of Hungary, Fennena of Kuyavia was in the court with her daughter.

Vivaldi and his crew decided to return to Catalonia at this time instead because they believed that the journey they undertook was impossible to handle for them.

The return of the Vivaldi and his crew were celebrated in Catalonia were celebrated there, however, Alfonso III is disappointed.

The King of Naples and the King of Aragon were able to meet in Jerusalem on 1298.

Alfonso III

I am the rightful King of Sicily, you are an usurper.

Charles II of Sicily

I was given the right to rule Sicily, you bastard.

Alfonso III

I am the rightful ruler of Sicily, not you, imbecile!

The King of Aragon and the ruler of Montferrat saw each other on the crusade and it turned out that the two are cousins - both descended from Manfred of Sicily.

The ruler of Montferrat and the King of Aragon talked and Talked about how Sicily can be regained, however, he was poisoned and a minor Palaiologos replaced him as the count of Montferrat, Alfonso III believed something else was brewing and they should regain the throne of the Mainland part of Sicily and the throne of Hungary whether by hook or by crook.

Rudolf of Austria

The King of Bohemia was assassinated as was his son on 1298, so Elisabeth Richeza had to return to Poland, Richeza of Poland would feel betrayed and sad after the death of his first husband, she felt bad because she would never be queen.

Agrippina of Slavonia accompanied Richeza of Poland on her journey back to Poland which means the death of the last Premyslids did happen, the loss of the Premyslids cemented the Power of Przemysl II of Poland.

On 1298, just after the death of her first husband, Elisabeth Richeza would be married to another man, Rudolf of Austria when her father came back to Poland in order to secure alliance with the Habsburgs, she was happy at her new marriage.

On the later part of 1298, the land of Jerusalem was given to the King of Aragon while Antioch was given to the King of England, this felt fair for the both parties which was good.

The English and the Aragonese decided to attack Mainland Sicily or the Kingdom of Sicily while journeying back to their respective Kingdoms.

King Alfonso III is very victorious against the Anjous in Southern italy included in the captured is Klementia of Habsburg, the wife of one of the claimants to the throne of Hungary Charles Martel of Anjou.

The war claimed many lives in Southern Italy but it ended the conflict of Sicilian Vespers.

220px-Giovanni_da_Procida.jpg

Giovanni da Procida

Klementia of Habsburg would remain in an Aragonese prison until her death and this would cause the wrath of the Angevin counts of Provence against the Plantagenets and the House of Barcelona, this conflict would worsen once the Direct Capetians go extinct in France, this ended the ambitions of the Capetian House of Anjou, the only surviving child of Klementia of Habsburg and Charles Martel of Anjou was Clemence of Provence, the Queen of France and wife of Philip of Valois due to Charles Robert having an accident just after Southern Italy was gained by Aragon, her father, Charles Martel of Provence died two years after the seizure of Naples and the county of Provence would be French in the next generation, although the claimants to Naples or the Capet Anjou would rule Forcalquier as vassals of France.

One November 1298, just before Edward II would return Margaret of France would die due to a disease and he was married right away to the young Isabella of France, while Alfonso III would celebrate his own return in which GIovanni da Procida joined in the celebration and Alfonso III saw his future daughter in law, the de jure Queen of Hungary whose return to Hungary was his own guarantee to her.

Aragon is in a better position to rule Jerusalem than many other Crusading kingdoms. It's closer than France or England to Jerusalem and is actually on the Mediterranean Sea. But it's going to ultimately lose Jerusalem just like any other crusader unless it can conquer and hold Egypt and depose the Mamelukes once and for all.

Capitol III

After the return of Alfonso III in Aragon, two of the brothers of the Aragonese King considered to marry French Princesses, however, Alfonso III advised against the marriage,, the brother of Alfonso III was told by Alfonso III to cede his inheritance of Sicily before his supposed marriage to Blanche of France which was dashed and canceled which he did and James was told to conquer Albania as it is his future Kingdom.

However they have been thinking about the Future of the Kingdom of Aragon and the consequences of their future actions.

Aside from that the marriage between Constantine Palaiologos and Yolande of Aragon was celebrated on the later part of 1297, the marriage strengthened the ties of Aragon with the Eastern Romans and at this marriage the shared suzerainty between Aragon and Eastern Roman Empire on Southern Italy and Sicily was established and Alfonso III is awarded the title, Catapanate of Italy, Yolande of Aragon was really happy of the marriage between her and Constantine.

James conquered Albania after his marriage with Fennena of Kuyavia, on the early part of 1298, the people of Albania welcomed him as a liberator rather than as a conqueror since a part of the Albanian population is catholic.

The Catholics of Albania were happy because the Orthodox people who oppressed them are now gone and they are now ruling themselves, however, their new King is not even independent himself, they just changed their masters from the Greeks and now to the Catalans of Aragon

Alfonso III was happy about what has happened to Albania, now that it became a part of his empire, he can now start the war in Hungary to reclaim the lost throne and now, James is the King of Albania.

In this point Hungary is an anarchic country ruled by Anarchic barons which are disputing for lands and many heirs are fighting for heirs, Bohemia is now ruled by a young girl that many wants to marry, the barons don’t want to crown the Bavarian heir nor the Rus heir of Hungary and the rightful queen of Hungary is on water and Transylvania is now defacto independent and the Wallachians also become independent although they don’t have a ruler as well.

Alfonso III changed the betrothal of the Young Elisabeth of Hungary to the Young Peter of Aragon, his younger brother instead of his own son.

In this point in time the celebration of Przemysl II on the death of Waclaw II was not complete because the rightful heirs to Pomerellia sold their rights to the Teutonic Order and conquered Pomerellia and massacred its inhabitants without Przemysl II even knowing it.

Meanwhile in Austria, Elisabeth Richeza is very much fond of a young Czech man named Jindrich and her father’s wife, Margaretha gave birth to a daughter named Margaretha, while on the same time Blanche of France is married to Louis of Bavaria, a man who wanted to be the Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire.

Capitol IV

At this point the Duchess of Austria, Richeza of Poland is discovered to be pregnant by her husband Rudolf of Habsburg for the first time and gave birth to a son named Leopold on the early part of 1298 however his paternity is in doubt due to the rumours of Richeza of Poland having sex with Henry, whose real identity is that he is the son of Elisabeth of Hungary, Queen of Serbia and Zavis, a former lover of the Queen of Bohemia, Henry and Richeza met at Bohemia when Wenceslaus II and her first husband was alive later Richeza of Poland is discovered to be pregnant again and gave birth to a son named Albert on the earlier part of 1299, she was scandalous and was involved with Jindrich but she has proven that none of her sons have a problematic paternity, later after the death of her first husband on 1300, she was married to Henry of Carinthia and took her children with Rudolf of Habsburg until they succeed to the lands of their father.

At this point in time Margaret of Poland is betrothed to Boleslaus shortly after her birth, the son of Henry V the fat of Breslau/Breslavia as the recognition to his own allegiance to King Premislaus II of Poland and at this point in time the minor Silesian Dukes are starting sell their duchies to Henry the Fat of Breslau and Bytom and Ratibor was sold to Bolko I of Opole by Casimir of Bytom and Premislaus of Raciborz to participate in the crusades since the Polish King does not recognize them nor support them as the ruler of the Duchy of Oppeln-Ratibor and the Duchy of Breslavia.

On the early 1298, Both the Kingdoms of Aragon and the Eastern Roman Empire are at an alliance causing both the Kingdom of Aragon and the Eastern Roman Empire to have a lake in the Mediterranean which caused France to worry because Aragon will be and is allied with England for a long time, the shared suzerainty of Southern Italy would bind the Eastern Roman Empire and Aragon.

On the early part of 1298 Anna of Bohemia was smuggled to Poland by zealous court people in order to avoid betrothal to a german magnate and she is married to the oldest son of Vladislaus the Elbowhigh, Stephen at a very young age and Kunigunde of Kuyavia is betrothed to Boleslaus the son of Premislaus II of Poland as well.

Alfonso III is planning a way to make Queen Elisabeth of Hungary and her future husband, Peter of Aragon rule Hungary and restore the order in that Kingdom.

On the later part of 1298 Alfonso III has started the war to gain Hungary again from the usurping Barons that have led the Kingdom of Hungary to become an anarchy, Alfonso was able to pacify the Barons that caused the anarchy in Hungary and restored the order there and installed Peter of Aragon and his child wife to the throne of Hungary.

However, nothing is gained and nothing is regained by what happened to Hungary, however Peter I of Hungary made Hungary’s minority have their own autonomy and invited the Catalans to Transylvania starting a blend between the Catalans and Vlachs in Transylvania.

The marriage between Elisabeth of Hungary and Peter I of Hungary was celebrated on 1305.

At this point a possible succession crisis in France is brewing since in 1300 and Joan I of Navarre never gave birth to a son again, in this point of time Clementia, Countess of Provence and Philip of Valois are now living at the same house and at the same time betrothed and precontracted.

The crusade in Jerusalem was a success, Antioch and Jerusalem were taken by England and Aragon with the help of Polish troops sent by Premislaus II and the husband of Joan of Acre, Henry III, Count of Bar it became a success and the landless lords went to the holy land which made the Crusade on Jerusalem a success, however, there are circumstances in Europe that paved for the people to leave more.

There is a plague in Europe bought by rats starting on 1300 and some people who wanted to escape it went to Jerusalem and helped the crusades in this time the Slavic People of Poland were not affected but Lower Silesia was affected by the plague and caused the decimation of the German migrants there and Ruthenian refugees and migrants from Greater Poland replenished the population there, the same happened in Transylvania and the Vlachs became many due to the plague and also the Catalans that are migrating to Hungary.

On 1305, Peter of Aragon finally married Elisabeth of Hungary and Elisabeth of Hungary gave birth to a son named Decibal Arpad who is betrothed to Elisabeth of Kuyavia, the sister of Stephen of Kuyavia.

On 1305 By the order of Boniface VII as requested by Premislaus II who crusaded in the Holy Land, the Teutonic Knights were deprived of the lands in the baltics and these were divided between Poland and Denmark got Prussia and the Baltics, Kulmland and Pomerellia went to Poland.

Premislaus II laughed at Stephen of Kuyavia, the son of Vladislaus the Elbowhigh about his wife’s claims to Bohemia, he said he would not support his claims to Bohemia and blocked his early attempts, however, Elisabeth of Bohemia got a betrothal to John of Luxembourg which she easily accepted, at this point Henry V the Fat of Breslavia became one of the chief ministers of Premislaus II.

On 1310, the marriage between Elisabeth of Bohemia and John of Luxembourg, the son of Henry VII of the Holy Roman Empire happened, which is a marriage proposal that Elisabeth of Bohemia can’t resist, at the same time Kunigunde of Kuyavia is married to Boleslaus of Poland, at this point in time the last son of Vladislaus the Elbowhigh is born, his name is Casimir.

The Kingdoms of Antioch and Jerusalem expanded and dukes with the origin of Piast origin from Poland and Courtenay origin from France origin created new duchies inside them and for this reason the states of Antioch and Jerusalem were both strong which threatened France and aside from that Eleanor of England(Eleonora di Inglaterra), the eldest daughter of Edward II is married to Marianus of Arborea on 1310, the heir of the Judge of Arborea, John of Arborea.

Due to this France is surrounded by hostile states that ally with England and England controlling Antioch which would make France more paranoid of England.

Alfonso III and Eleanor of England felt happy that the crusades in the Kingdom of Jerusalem was a success.

Later this time a long war of French succession will be waged due to the future English King having a claim to France, however, Edward II chose to delay to forward the claims until his son Edward is the King knowing that the French nobles might not like him.

On 1306, the marriage between Anna of Bohemia and Stephen of Kuyavia has been consummated.

Anna of Bohemia m. Stephen of Kuyavia
-Vladislaus b. 1307
-Margaret b. 1309

The two sisters would war for the succession of Bohemia on 1310, while the happy Richeza would be in Austria, preparing for that one her sons to be the possible Holy Roman Empire and she wanted sainthood as well perhaps, one can dream, however, her Meinharder husband would die on 1310.

On 1310, Richeza of Poland would remarry Louis of Bavaria, who wanted to be a Holy Roman Emperor himself, she said to herself it was a dream come true...however, Louis of Bavaria had been in long years of a childless marriage with Blanche of France for a more or less a decade and she just died on 1309, Richeza of Poland was happy.

Vladislaus the Elbowhigh told Premislaus II to support his son, Stephen in gaining the crown of Bohemia and that Premislaus II would raise Vladislaus and Margaret while they are in that conflict, Premislaus did agree but he really did not pull a finger..

He himself is horrified of the fact of them ruling Bohemia...not only that it would possibly unite Kuyavia with Bohemia but also have give the Bohemian King a claim to Poland this is something he cannot allow to happen.

Stephen and Anna would leave behind their children to mount an expedition against Bohemia with the finest Kuyavian soldiers in but however, they are not prepared for what will happen in Bohemia.

John_of_Luxemburg-Wedding.jpg

Elisabeth of Bohemia's marriage with John of Luxembourg

The two were treated well and no war is said that would happen in fact they were allowed to visit the Princess Elisabeth of Bohemia and the two talked to Elisabeth who said that she is preparing to marry the son of the Holy Roman Emperor, Henry VII and she found her new husband very great, however the talk was a trap because later when they left they would be abducted and later executed now that the Kuyavian soldiers had lower their guard.

Premislaus II would not allow Stephen of Kuyavia to gain Bohemia knowing that they themselves have their own ambitions in Poland.

In the same time, the two would visit Aragon to visit Eleanor of Aragon so that she would be able to see them and they would visit Hungary as well which is ruled by a branch of the Aragonese royal family.
