Give Canada a Vegas-style "sin city"

I wonder if from that you can get a combined US/Canadian sin city on the border. Kind of like the Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park but with gambling and prostitution instead of camping, hiking, and nature.
Niagara Falls was already mentioned. I suspect it probably is the most probable.

Yeah, I was thinking Vancouver might be the best place, but maybe something more inland.

Assuming Vancouver develops as IOTL, it's gonna garner a certain association with drugs, hippies, eco-freaks, and allied phenomena. That might scare off the respectable middle-class suburbanites who tend to be the ones flocking to gambling meccas.

Silent Generation suburbanites could spend a happy weekend in Las Vegas, even as they were vaguely aware that it was built and run with serious input from the mafia. They might not have been so lackidaisical about it if it had been the Altamont Hells Angels running the show, with Timothy Leary and Hunter S. Thompson headlining at the Sands.

So, yeah, a bit inlamd, in order to soak up a bit of the West Coast atmosphere from a safe distance, but still be the kind of place you can take your mother-in-law to for her birthday.

Somewhere in BC could get you a Canadian equivalent of Lake Tahoe...
