Newt Gingrich in 2008 said that if John McCain picked Joe Lieberman as his running mate, Barr would clear 15%. It's no secret that Gingrich wasn't big on McCain and really didn't like Lieberman.
So what if, had McCain picked Lieberman, the former Speaker of the House endorsed his friend and fellow Georgia Republican Bob Barr in 2008?
Also, for argument's sake, let's assume Barr has a better running mate. Not Ron Paul (I doubt he'd have said yes to being number two) but somebody like Barry Goldwater Jr (who endorsed Paul) or Vice Admiral Michael Colley (A 3 Star Admiral who served during the Gulf War and was on the Libertarian National Committee).
How big a landslide would Obama have won in? 400+ EV?
