GIMP basemaps

So, as I've been making my maps, I've generated a number of .xcf (GIMP's native file format) basemaps that I thought some of you might want. For instance here's the one I just made of North America:

Obviously, every element is a separate layer so there shouldn't be a problem with the fuzziness, which you really can't due with a .png or whatever have you. You'll also get a bunch of GIMP vectors, so it wouldn't be terribly hard to recolor. I'd just like to know if anyone's interested?

I'm interested but not really all that good with technical stuff. Also what is that line north of Alaska?

Oh my god, yes. I keep making .xcf basemaps and losing them so I have to make them all over again for nearly every map. Atom, if you uploaded those things in a .zip to mediafire or something you would be the coolest dude around until an even cooler dude somehow showed up, which would difficult but is still a reasonable possibility.

How did you do those little hill lines everywhere?
They look very like the sort of thing which was typical in text books a few decades back.

I will then.

Lots and lots of time with the paintbrush tool.

I have no idea how to use GIMP, but if I did, these would be awesome. You have others?
Have any more Atom?
Quite a few. I'll start combing through my files to try to get most of them.

Alright, I think this is sort of working. Here's a http://www.mediafire.com/?2r9d23arli717 link[ to the file on mediafire. I've never done this before, so there may be problems. Herein there should be:
-One map of Newfoundland, Northwest North America, and Eastern Brazil, along with a small map of the New World. (AltSetNoCOl2blank)
-One map of the New World (Americasblank)
-The Blank map from above, not cleaned up, because I forgot:p (america2blank)
-Two blank maps of the Andes, one with elevation. (Andesblank, AndesElevblank)
-One map of Mesoamerica, with borders of the Aztec and Tarascan Empires (Mesoamericablank)
-One Hemisphere map focused on Eurasia
-One map of most of the world. Rather useless (MostoftheWorldblank)
-One map of some of Northern Europe, focused on Germany (GemranyBlank)

You should put a lot of gimp images together into a zip file and upload it to AH.com for easier uploads of more images. I like this idea, but have paint, wish you luck on this thread!

Gimps is available free and open source for windows as well as osx, besides the numerous linux distro versions. Anyone with an internet connection can get it. "I have paint" is not an excuse. :p

My Eurasia is a bit wonky...

The Arctic is fine, but the paths for everything else are shifted up relative to the ready filled areas...
