Hello.
I'm trying to write up a scenario involving three main points: The Central Powers winning WWI (or, at least, Germany being in a position to make demands of France), a Fascist France rising up, and said Fascist France starting WWII.
That said, I'm not entirely confident that I could create a plausible scenario involving this. I've created several alternate timelines in the past, but these have all been of the Alien Space Bats variety, and I'm hoping to avoid that completely with this one.
Still, I recognize that it might take a few rather improbably events here and there, at the least, but I wouldn't feel too bad at having to say "It was really unlikely, but hey, it happened anyways, and how many times have really unlikely things happened in the real world?"
There are other concerns, as well. Not having an in-depth knowledge of WWI, or France, or Fascism, and not entirely convinced that even several months' study would make sure that I wasn't missing something vitally important, I'm a bit worried that I would miss some crucial detail which, if it had been addressed, would have caused my scenario to turn out rather differently. Especially since it deals with Fascism, which was, at least to my knowledge, altered quite significantly by the resident culture in a way that other systems weren't. So I don't think I'd ever feel myself qualified to say that I had gotten every speck of German influence out, and accounted for every speck of possible French influence. Sure, I could also look at Italian Fascism, and so on, but what if there was some detail shared by Germany and Italy, but not by France, or...
Well, you probably get the picture.
