Germany trades with Russia 1917-8

In OTL Germany was crippled by the WW1 British blockade. It was not effective 1939 -40 because of the deal with Stalin.

Was there any way that Germany could have done a deal with a Russian regime seeking an end to the war which would let it buy what they needed.

Does this mean Germany goes pro-Red, or Kerensky's replacement pulls out of the war quo ante bellum?

What would Russia have to offer, realistically? The Germans were getting massive amounts of food out of their occupied areas, and with shortage in Russia I suspect there wouldn't have been more. Could the Bolsheviks spare any metals, rare earths, leather, cloth, or oil? I don't really think so, given their own urgent need to arm their forces, establish their authority and restore subsistence to the city workers.
