Germany takes Morocco by the early 1900´s

Little known fact that German influence in Marocco in the late 19th century was something interesting and ignored , Morocco was heavily influenced by the German's military power to the point even the sultan Hassan 1 asked for Germany to help him modernize his army , so if Germany manages to insert her dominance in this region how would that change the rest of the century ?

Come 1914 the Brits and French have a discussion over who gets to invade and take control of Morroco. Another German general has a opportunity to make his Entente counter parts look like fools. If the German governors have been smart they made nice with the Berbers and can withdraw to the mountains , holding off the Entente forces to 1918.

That would be an interesting issue but I think the French and Spanish enclaves that were established along the coast will cause their governments to not take kindly. This is what happened IRL when France took offense to the German gov't nosing around Morocco.

The real issue is how to get Morocco's sultan to not ask for military help from Germany to boot out the French and Spanish along the coast (the real reason for the sultan to ask for help was to prepare his people for the ability to boot out the French and Spanish).

So somehow you have to get a situation where it doesn't drive the French to ally with England in 1904-1905. It just seemed that without Bismarck to help with foreign policy, Wilhelm II was a complete idiot on the world stage (specifically in this instance). His bellicose call for Morocco's independence in 1905 hurt Germany prestige when no one came help yet in the end Morocco got the 1906 concessions at the Algeciras Conference.

You may be able to do some interesting rewriting of history if a skillful German diplomat had persuaded Wilhelm II to not get involved. Then he wouldn't have looked so bad on the world stage which might not have led to the successive buildup of the German Fleet with the German Naval Laws in 1906, 1908, and 1912...which caused the Brits to worry about their own fleet advantage and led to their fleet increases.

If the Czar and King George hadn't alienated their cousin (as I see it, the cousins were picking on the family member with a disability) and instead met up periodically to plot out "world influence" the world would have been a better place.
