Germania provinces of the roman empire get more romanized

Were they not already pretty romanised? After all, they were part of the empire for a long time and heavily settled by various armies and support settlements. I also understand there were plenty of civilian developments/farms/villas etc scattered about right along the border

They were. The original population of the provinces was largely Celtic (except in the northern portions), which was subsequently largely romanized, even though there probably were still a few people who could speak Celtic (at least in the area of former Gaul) as late as 600 AD.
