That's a testament to Britain's perfidity. It's so devoted to the balance of power it's willing to enter a coalition against itself!

Austria could collapse on its own following Sadowa. A not-Bismarck, Bismarck could foment discord within Austria to get the Hungarians to break the union after the military defeat, thus achieving his goals without France getting involved.
Sure he could. But never ever would Europe accept Cisleitthania or merely today's Austria being incorporated into a global german empire.
Let alone Austria itself where the population was deeply attached to the Habsburg dynasty.
And, last but not least, Prussia most of all wanted to retain firm control over the german empire. That's why it favoured the lesser Germany solution over the greater Germany solution.
