German Unification in an Anglo-Prussian Union TL?

In a world in which there is an Anglo-Prussian union:

Firstly, what time period, earliest to latest?

From what I gather, these are the possibilities:

1. Prussia-Hanover and Great Britain split, allowing for Prussia to head the German Empire.

2. Austria gathers all the German States that aren't Prussia-Hanover and forms an Austro-German Empire without Prussia's involvement. Prussia remains united with Great Britain.

3. Most unlikely: The Anglo-Prussian Union remains intact, with Prussia (and therefore, unofficially Britain) becoming a part of the German Empire. (The only reason I bring this one up is because Prussia is very... er... German. Its participation seems to go without saying in most TLs...)

Let's hear it.

If there is to be a Kingdom of Prussia-Hanover that has to mean that this realm is under the rule of House Hanover, because the law of the House Welf says that another branch of the Welfs will inherit if one branch dies out in male family line.

One can always have a war of Hanoverian Succession, Europe loved those at the time. The Welfs in question were old, distant cousins with very little money and power.

This isn't really answering my question.

In a TL in which say Frederick the Great becomes King of the UK and Prussia (after his mother Sophia becomes queen) and Hanover is incorporated into the Union (War or no War, doesn't matter) how does the concept of German Unification progress?

Does it survive?

Does it eventually come true as an Austrian led German Empire, excluding Prussia or... what?

What?!

Prussia with Hannover incorporated and in Personal Union with Britain would be in an excellent position to unite Northern Germany by the end of the 18th century.

This is one of those TLs were France is going to be rather nervous, though.

OTOH, depending on when the PoD is, you could possibly have Otto von Bismark as PM of the UK.

Keep in mind that, even if the same man is king of Britain and of a chunk of the Continent, any governmental unification of the two realms is not a given. They are likely to be politically aligned (to avoid royal awkwardness), but that doesn't make Bismarck British.
