German Sulu Archipelago; American Marshalls, Nauru

I found an interesting old thread in which the Germans in 1898-1899 offered to exchange Taongi (and later Eniwetok) for an island in the Sulu Archipelago (no clarification on which island).

But let's think a liyttle bit bigger. What if the Germans had offered to hand over the whole of the Marshall Islands and Nauru in exchange for the whole of the Sulu Archipelago?

As for the issue of Samoa, the division of Samoa occurred in 1900 so I doubt it would come into play here.

Japan likely nabs the islands in TTL's WWI. I imagine Marshall Island and Nauru would be administratively merged, and might even be lopped onto Guam or Hawaii. The US West-Pacific Naval Presence would be beefed up a bit here.
