Going along with the string of WWI threads I'm wondering what the effects would be of Hindenberg being defeated by the Russians at Tannenberg?
Lets say its a defeat on a similar scale to the Austro-Hungarian defeats in Galicia at the same time.
I don't think the Russians had the forces to move into Germany very far but considering how much Moltke was worried about the East might we see even more German troops taken out of the attack on France?
