Ah, but if H&L did not get sent to the East, what impact could/would that have had in the West?

I should probably clarify - lest anyone gets the wrong idea - that I'm only speaking about the short-term when I dismiss H&L's contribution.

Its amazing about that because S.L.A. Marshal had it in there and so did Keagan.... is there perhaps a Russian or Japanese source that could be had? first world war.com and wiki also mention the quarrel without sourcing I would guess maybe they borrow the Keagan or Marshal accounts. I don't have a copy with me but I think Hoffman's account of the Russian generals comming to blows was first hand (he was the German military observer during the Russo-Japanese war and was there at the peace signing)
