German Civil War

Your challange, should you choose to except it, is to create a German civil war that begins sometime between 1923 and 1933. I personally lean toward a Facist vs. Communist civil war. What do you think is the most likely scenario? Is the possibility of a German civil war in this time period even possible?

The Leipzig Trial, which implicated Communists of burning down the Reichstag, instead uncovered and publicized hard evidence that it was set by the National Socialist Party, under direct orders from the Chancellor, in an effort to discredit the Communists.

The Comintern screams bloody murder.

The Nazis scream manufactured evidence.

Riots in the street. More fires. Purges. Secret police. Broken shop windows. Pogroms. Camps. Expulsions. The von Trapps write an earlier version of "These Boots Were Made For Walkin'" and somehow wind up in Maine instead of Vermont. Foreign military entanglements with France and Russia and Italy and Spain and Austria and the Vatican. Poland gets screwed, because well, that's what always happens.

Pretty much a usual decade in Central Europe, actually.

Oh, and running. Seriously, there's an outrageous amount of running involved.
