German Channel Port Breakout

Could the German garrisons under siege in the Channel ports breakout and cut off supplies to the Allied front at a critical time?

They would eventually be contained and defeated but could they actually break out and was the supply line vulnerable to a temporary excursion/s?

Generally no, as the forces were either fortress garrisons or coastal defence divisions with limited transport.

English Channel ports (Le Havre, Dieppe, Bolougne) were all captured/isolated by Corps sized forces by mid September; Calais by the end of September.

Dunkirk held out until May 1945 but was screened by the Czech Armoured Brigade.

Other ports like Lorient and St Nazaire held out until May 1945 but were not on critical supply routes and were screened by US and French forces.

The closest to your post was the German garrison on the Channel Islands which launched a raid against Granville in early 1945.

Yes they could make a breakout, meaning an attack onto the Allied forces that were screening if not besieging them;
no they could not cut the LOCs or supply lines.
