Gerald Ford third Presidency ?

What if Ronald Reagan convinced Gerald Ford to be his running mate ?
And Ford is Vice President until the March 30, 1981.
John Hinckley Jr. assassinate Ronald Reagan in front of the Washington Hilton hotel.

Now how look that from the constitutional site
Gerald Ford has the Right to become 41th President and right for two incumbencies ?
Despite be was already the 38th president.

Gone Fishin'
. . . Gerald Ford has the Right to become 41th President and right for two incumbencies ? . .
One additional term.

If Reagan goes with Ford in 1980 and then a troubled individual is “successful” in assassinating Reagan in March 1981, then Ford can run on his own in 1984.

22nd Amendment

https://constitutioncenter.org/interactive-constitution/amendments/amendment-xxii

“ . . . and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of President more than once. . . ”
At least the way I read it.

Ford can run on his own, and be elected, one more time.
