Geopolitics of a more powerful Indian sub-continent

Say India and Pakistan end up as Global Manufacturing Hub similar to China

How would this effect relations between India and Pakistan

What would be India and Pakistan's relations with their neighbors

Would the United States and a more powerful India bump heads

OK. Also, I'm assuming that Bangladesh is independent as well, correct?

Anyway, if India and Pakistan will be much wealthier, then there'd probably be less tensions among them since no one other than nutjobs would want to ruin their prosperity by engaging in war--especially in a nuclear war!

I expect their neighbors to play India and Pakistan off against each other in order to prevent either one of them from dominating them too much.

I don't think that a more powerful India would butt heads with the US since India doesn't appear to have much global ambitions.

If this happens during Cold War, then the Third world might become more industrialized than OTL.
You mean with India and Pakistan serving as inspirations?

Perhaps, but China's rise from poverty didn't serve as a sufficient inspiration to many countries. :(

Finding a way to discredit the Congress Party sometime between 1947-1977 is a good start for India to become an economic hub. As for Pakistan, maybe if it was bigger (Maybe the Pakistan-Afghanistan confederation happens in the 1950s, and Pakistan keeps Bangladesh, has the Muslim majority areas of Burma and the Muslim parts of Indian Punjab) it could decentralize and coups would be harder to pull off. Remember South Korea based its economic model off of Pakistan's.

Having both Pakistan and India not be enemies, probably if Kashmir was partitioned, will make this easier as they will both be US allies and will be more open to investment.
