the Treaty of Aix la Chapelle ended the WAS. the treaty was presented, dictated by the French and English after their own negotiations at Breda over the course of the last two years, without consulting any of their allies, particularly the Austrians.
Should those earlier Anglo-French discussions have failed or not come to an agreement. Could a general negotiation of more of the principles have resulted in something that would have left less of a bad taste for both the Austrians, not souring their opinion of the British as allies.
The Austro Sardinians dominated north Italy, The French the Southern Netherlands. its easy to perhaps see the Franco- Austrians coming to something of a different agreement if left to it on their own.. If Austria were to sacrifice the S.N. and the French and Spanish sacrificed Genoa and Modena. Silesia is already done so that cannot be undone at this point, Mind you The Franco Spanish interest in North Italy is of more strategic interest than furthering the ambitions of Frederick, so I don't want to close the door
