Those of you who follow, or have even skimmed Teufelseelowe or GSOT have seen a sample of my sick, silly, surreal sense of satire (anyone all about alliteration?).
That said, I'm interested in serious things too (believe it or not! ) and have some ideas for some possible TLs.
Which of the following ideas would you like to see? (working titles subject to change)
All God's Children: Jefferson's anti-slavery clause in the Ordinance of 1784 passes, banning slavery in the Treaty of Paris land acquisitions (Appalachians to the Mississippi) and any States therefrom. Alternate US frontier and an earlier reckoning over slavery. Not to mention some really interesting butterflies!
Voodoo Empire - the Great Haitiwank: "de Loa, dey find a good friend in one Touissant L'Ouverture". Haitiwank, enough said. Intended to be plausible AH based on a "religious epiphany" rather than any ASB "divine intervention". Will be a tasteful and respectful rendition of vodou, not Hollywood "Voodoo doll" BS.
Fun with Cryptohistory!: a shameless attempt to bring all those wacky, bullshit "Cryptohistory" claims out there into mutual Alt-historical existence, from Puget Sound Vikings to Chinese California to Muslim Texas to Mali-meets-the-Olmecs. Intended to not be any more ASB than OTL, though I fully intend to push the plausibility limits.
Viva Balbo!: Anarchist bomb kills Mussolini and Ciano in 1935. Italo Balbo, adventurer, aviator, Nazi-hater, closet republican, all-around personality, and America's favorite fascist(TM), takes the helm as Il Duce. No airships, but flying boats there will be.
Coprosperity: Ito republicans dominate in Japan. Roosevelt open-trade Imperialists dominate in the US. After making the Pacific their mutual sphere of economic influence the two economic allies end up fighting alongside one another in an ugly Alt-WWII.
And yes, two of those are post-1900, but I really see no purpose in splitting the poll to maintain board etiquette.
