[Reuters]The streets of Auch, Bayonne, Bordeaux, Dax, Lourdes and Paux were full of thousands of happy citizens waving the Gascon flag and the Union Jack as at last Queen Elizabeth was proclaimed Queen of Gascony.
Un petit amuseement for you all. In the late 80s/90s a small movement existed in Gascony campaigning for the 'restoration of Queen Elizabeth to the throne of Gascony'. Yes of course it was just an excuse to meet toegther and get blinding drunk on strong red wine, but imagine that it was instead a serious political movement with a whole lot of movement and popular support-such that it comes to pass.....
(and yes ok the French patriots amongst you can counter with Louis staying in England and becoming a dual monarch if thats what you'd like)
