So, let's say Gary Hart is able to avoid his scandals in 1988, and emerge the frontrunner, ahead of, say, Dukakis or Clinton or whoever. He now must pick his running mate, but who might he pick? He might choose someone slightly more of the establishment, perhaps from the Northeast, to balance out the Coloradan, or maybe he'd go full-on maverick and try and go for someone else historic, like Jesse Jackson or Marian Wright Edelman. Thoughts?
