Göring's jewish friend and the life inprisonment of Herman

We know that Göring was blamed for part in the holucaust and considered a Anti-semit. But unknown to many in periode 1939-1941 he played a part in the rescue of Jews in both Germany and occupied countries.

A danish history wrote this book mentioned here

In the periode of 1919 - 1923 Herman Göring lived in Denmark at the house of Jewish and his family named Hugo Rothenberg and they became close friends. Then the storm started to form over Germany, Mr. Rothenberg asked his friend to help get his sisters out of Germany, and Göring helped given Mr. Rothenberg a special passport which allowed his to travel around the Reich. As an un-official representative of American and Swiss Jewish organistations he visited Jews still living in the Reich and warned them what was to come.
This went on until 1941 when according to then above mentioned book, because after Göring lost most of his influence with Hitler.
The book also puts into question if Göring was a Nazi at all.
Mr. Rothenberg believing he was a Nazi Spy was arrested by the allies in 1945 where he took his own life.
I wonder if this had become Public Knowledge at the time could we have seen a scenario where Göring was put in prison for life insteed???

p.s. the Author of this book Bent Bludnikow is a Jewish Historian.

Really? I'm surprised Goring didn't shout that one from the rooftops(well benchtop) at Nuremburg. Might have knocked him down from death penalty to life in prison.
