Fully Fledged Civilization in New England by the time that the Vikings arrive

For a while now I've been bouncing the idea that of doing a Land of Blank and Blank tl in otl New England. I do not believe that it would be too difficult to push some of these peoples, such as the Wampanoag, into having a fully fledged complex civilization seeing as they already had some villages before European contact. However, I still have not figured out what the effects of having such a civilization make contact with the Vikings or the possible contact that they would have with Islamic seafarers 500 years before Columbian contact both on the peoples of *New England and on the Old World.

Depends on what you necessarily mean by "complex". While very controversial the cultures that created "America's Stongehenge" could have been around before that point or around then (if it wasn't later European settlers who made it in the first place).

There could have also been influence from the early ancestors of the Haudenosaunee further south. The Wabanaki confederacy would also be active later on in the region but I have no idea how far back their roots go. By the time later Europeans came agriculture had already been established in the area as well, but again I don't know how far back that goes. It's possible the Norse came and went long before any of these things came about.
