French speaking people in Transylvania.

So Austria was good at colonizing lands that they conquered from the Ottomans with Germans and some Frenchies from Lorraine which later assimilated into the much larger German community. WI there was a community of French speakers with population of about 300k in Transylvania by the middle of the 20th century how would that effect thing.
 
Most obvious changes assuming butterfly net:
Romanian culture is greatly enhanced; Romanian alliance to France in the inter-war period strengthened perhaps some more; an additional source of revenue for communist authorities when they start selling them off to the west
