French intervention in the Nigerian civil war

Could France intervene in the Nigerian civil war on the side of Biafra using the Humanitarian crisis as a casus belli

I don't think France had much stomach for intervention, after what it had been through at Dien Bien Phu and Algeria.

What would Britain do

The Suez crisis made them reluctant to intervene in Rhodesia, so.....

Would access to Biafran oil lead to France using less nuclear power plants

So France invades to get free oil?

Where would the planes be based? Btw a number of other countries were supporting Nigeria.

Most likely Gabon or Cameroon. Spain might let the French use a base on Fernando Po, at least until the independence of Equatorial Guinea. The Gibraltar dispute was in full swing, and the Spanish might see it as a thumb in the eye of the British. OTL they permitted relief flights to Biafra from that island.
