Freedom's Conscience: An Open Thread

April 13, 1993: While giving a speech at Kuwait University, former President George H. W. Bush, as well as dozens of students, are killed when a car bomb explodes. Further investigations prove that "Directorate 14" of the Iraqi intelligence service was responsible.

------------------------------------------------------------

So, this is an open thread for everyone to add to the story. However, I ask that you do nothing A.S.B. or contradictory.

Otherwise, enjoy!

April 14, 1993: President Clinton calls Congress into a joint session, and requests authorization for use of military force against Iraq. He says, "we cannot allow this criminal, reprehensible act to go unpunished, and others who wish to do the same go undeterred."

April 16, 1993, Bill Clinton retaliates against Iraq with a sustained bombardment of Baghdad. Targetted in the "surgical strike" is Sadamm Hussein's residence and various buildings associated with the Iraqi intelligence services.

Sadamm Hussin survives this bombardment, claiming that the "grace of Allah has allowed him to escape the wrath of the American Crusaders." Bill Clinton heralds the strikes as a "firm message to rouge states that America's leadership will not be target practice." Clinton has threathened further action against Iraq should it lash out after the April 16, 1993 attacks.
