Frederick the Great had earned the hate of the Pompadour, mistress of Louis XV, after ridiculing her. This is why she used her influence on the king, which helped the Diplomatic Revolution succeeding. Also, she was influential during the Seven-year war: France used too many resources against Prussia, which were lacking in North America and India then.
What if the Pompadour had never lived, or lost against another woman, or Fredrick hadn't ridiculed her? How would history change?
