So the idea here is that Hitler never comes to power-he remains either a minor fringe figure or is killed in WW1-and Franz Von Papen is named chancellor by the dying Hindenberg in his place. As Hitler never came to be, the Nazis remain more or less a fringe element themselves, heavily influenced by the Thule Society's beliefs as more of a cult than a political party, while the SA take their place as the would-be leaders of Germany. Under von Papen's influence, do Ernest Rohm, Kurt von Schleicher, and others who were victims of the Night of the Long Knives in OTL stand a better chance of gaining and staying in power-and a better chance against a possible future war with Russia (assuming they don't start WW2 in their own way?)
