Franz Von Fuher

So the idea here is that Hitler never comes to power-he remains either a minor fringe figure or is killed in WW1-and Franz Von Papen is named chancellor by the dying Hindenberg in his place. As Hitler never came to be, the Nazis remain more or less a fringe element themselves, heavily influenced by the Thule Society's beliefs as more of a cult than a political party, while the SA take their place as the would-be leaders of Germany. Under von Papen's influence, do Ernest Rohm, Kurt von Schleicher, and others who were victims of the Night of the Long Knives in OTL stand a better chance of gaining and staying in power-and a better chance against a possible future war with Russia (assuming they don't start WW2 in their own way?)

Hitler was almost killed by a mortar shell in WWI.

What a wonderful world it would be if the bomb was a little more on target...

Some of them yes, some of them will likely suffer as much.
No there won't be a better chance against Russia because 1-on-1 Germany is desperately outmatched against them and if the nazis don't take over the relationship between the Soviets and Weimar will not necessarily break down (the slight window of opportunity is 1939-1940 and that's about it), and Papen lacked the charisma to take over. Honestly it depends on how much of an idiot Papen is in that TL. The main problem is that there is no way to have a German-Soviet war without a prior German-Polish war which will inevitably draw in the western powers.

Problem is whe have a equal chance that Hitlers replacement would be Worst.

1. Ok. So von Papen is a chancellor. But who becomes a president after death of Hindenburg? Remember, Fuhrer (as an office) was an author idea of Hitler. No Hitler = no joining of offices of Chancellor and President.
2. SA taking power when Nazis do not... words fail me... SA was a paramilitary wing of NSDAP - so no NSDAP in power = no SA in power.
3. For German-Soviet war you need a common border between them. There won't be. Unless it's Red Alert time.
