Franco-German war in 1911

I remember reading about a serious conflict between France and Germania that could have turned into a total war , i believe it happened in Agader Morocco , The Moroccan sultan asked for German "protection" from the french and the German navy arrived in the coast of agadir and asked the french to leave the country if not they will bombared , then Britain intervened and the situation calmed down , what if the German attacked the french ? How would this war turned out ? Is Britain gonna be involved ? Who wins this ?

Agadir is more a diplomatic dance than a serious crises. War was very remote. Its a German plan to use the chaos in Morocco as a means of driving a wedge between the French and the British. Its a poorly conceived plan that only serves to drive the French and the British even closer together

The Germans are very rattled by the crisis as it proved to them that the Entente was real and that they were facing isolation. After a face saving compromise, the Germans decide on a rather large expansion of the Army and naval interests begin to take a back seat

As to an actual war, Britain would definitely back France here and the German army only began to really outclass the French after it but really, everyone was horrified at the thought of war over such an object

Thanks for the good answer

France has actually 2 very big advantages in this case, versus OTL:
+ The german/Austrian heavy artillery advantage is not as high as OTL, while the French field artillery one is higher (The french 75mle97 is already fully distributed while the German 77mle13 obviously is not)
+ Most important, the French still haven't shifted to that moronic 'Offensive a Outrance' Plan.

True- the German army expansion after the crisis is huge. In 1911, the Germans are just introducing the trench mortars as well.

Germany really only outclassed the Franco-Russians for a brief period after the Japanese War. In 1914, if the French had taken the sensible attitude of "we need to buy the Russians 30 days", the war would have been quickly won
