France tries to take back lost NA territory in the ARW

I always wondered why this didn't happen. After the Seven Years War, France gave up tons of territory in North America. In the Revolutionary War, why didn't they try to take some of it back? I don't think the Quebecois would have minded being under French control again.

Assuming the U.S. gets the same territory it did OTL, what happens next? Do the British try to take Quebec away from France again during the Napoleonic Wars in Europe? Is there a Quasi-War in this time, considering the U.S. can now threaten French territory.

Oh c'mon. Nobody has an opinion?

I think France could definitely get the territory back. All the Loyalists to Britain would move back to the mother country because I can't imagine France would take in tons of Anglo-settlers.

Canada is sold to the United States eventually so Napoleon has cash to take over Europe. Napoleon wouldn't need Louisiana in this time line, since he had a chunk of NA territory already, so it stays Spanish. The United States declares war on Spain to get New Orleans if Spain continues to not allow Americans to use the port. Because Spain is distracted at home, they lose Louisiana. The U.S. is much larger by today.

When France and the United States negotiated the two treaties that brought France into the ARW, one of the primary stipulations was that Canada would be left for the US to obtain; France was to get whatever Caribbean Islands it could take. Barring that, France wanted Britain to remain in Canada to ensure that a level of animosity continued between the UK and US.

Probably one would need a POD that goes a bit further back and makes New France either more populace or more profitable for France. Also capturing Newfoundland as France had wanted to do, would make Canada more attractive for France. The problem is though, this would focus America's attention towards French Canada and when the Undeclared Naval War roles around (1798-1800) there is a good chance that the US would declare war and invade Canada. With the RN bottling up the French fleet, Canada will almost certainly fall and the US and UK will grow even closer. Thus, totally counteracting nearly all the reasons that France entered the ARW in the first place.
