France Stays In Eurofighter, 1980s

If France stayed in then someone else would drop out, probably either us or the Germans. The project was too unwieldy and had too many competing design objectives derived from differing national interests. It's a miracle they got anything flyable out of it in OTL even without the French.

That's not very European of you, Thande. Aren't you supposed to say: "If France had stayed in then we'd all be European the world in a new European age of aircraft with European European European!" Or something?

You've got to tow the contintental line, man! ;)

The big one for me is Canada. It's a two engine aircraft vs. the F-35's one. And we all know that the RCAF has been a big believer in dual-engine planes.

It'd be an insane coup if the Eurofighter consortium could end up selling Typhoons on mainland North America.

MacCaulay, firstly, dude the name Royal Canadian Air Force hasn't been used since 1968! My man, we're all nostalgia nuts here to come form, but keep up with the times, man! :D

As for the CF buying the Eurofighter, I highly doubt it, simply because of the fact that the Eurofighter, while it would be a big step up on the Hornet, is not as big a step up as the F-35 is.
