Fortress America

One of, if not the only, AH board game. (I just got it on ebay today for about a third of what it usually goes for and I'm very excited:D :D :D ). From the same series as Axis & Allies by Milton Bradley.

Story: (Of a similar strain as Red Dawn -- made in 1984) Every country in the world except the US and Canada (which appears to be neutral) has fallen to communism. The US has developed SDI (aka "Star Wars") technology in violation of international treaties. The world responds by invading the US from the South, East and West. The US starts with a skeleton defense (but has partisans and laser beams) and the ROTW has a massive number of offensive units but can build no more. If ten US cities fall to the commies, the US will collapse . . .

Has anyone ever played it?

The cover of the box features a picture of Saddam Hussein, evidently leading troops into battle and the Twin Towers in the background -- very eerie to say the least.

EDIT: Just want to make it clear about that last bit; I didn't mean to imply that Hussein had anything to do w/ 9-11. I'd rather not turn this into a political thread.

Man, I absolutely LOVED that game. Still have it too, it's in storage at my parent's house. I thought the box cover was the coolest I'd ever seen, wanted to cut it out and frame it it looked so good.

Never was very good at it tho, I kept losing the US to the damncommies.

Yeah, I've met a couple of people at school whose parents have it at home and would never, under any circumstances, allow them to bring it up here. I've been looking for a copy ever since my freshman year (junior now). I can't believe I was able to get it for ony $12.50 in good shape.
