Forget Philip Roth.Lindbergh is elected President in 1940.

in his autobiography,Arthur Schlesinger said that some of the more radical Republican senators of the day wanted Lindbergh to run against Roosevelt.
So,forget "the plot aganist America", what
likely would have happened if Charles Lindbergh was elected President of United States in November 1940?

Did he have any credentials to be Preisdent of the Untied States? His claim to fame was the he flew a plane across an ocean. That dosen't really count for much in the White House.

I never read TPAA, ( I tried... but I couldn't get into it).

I Know Lindbergh was an Isolationist, butr would he not have been forced into WAr after Pearl harbor, assuming it still happens as in OTL?

Well first of all ... I'm more inclined to say that CL was much more prepared to be president of the United States than just about 97% of the lawyer types that have held the office or desired so. Anyway, Lindbergh would have went to war but it's probably not a given that the war would include Germany. An American-Japanese war would change things up a lot. For starters seems pretty safe bet that the Red Flag is going to be flying over a 'liberated' Paris.
