For all Time revisited - A collaborative TL

We won't revisit For all Time, at least not from its initial POD, the death of Franklin D. Roosevelt. But its premise will stay the same. The President of the United States dies at a crucial point in history, an important war. Will the world sink into the same crapsack world we know from FaT? We'll see:

January 14th, 2002: The President of the United States, George W. Bush, dies after choking a pretzel. His vice president, Dick Cheney, is sworn in immediately as the new president.

January 15th, 2002: President Cheney gives his first televised speech, in which he promises to continue the War on Terror with the "same determination President Bush had.

I have to implement one important rule for TTL: No random killing of people. It really sucks when a potentially interesting person for TTL is killed off by some random thing. Deaths ITTL have to make sense, like in the Bush example. Because IOTL, he almost choked on a pretzel. So please, follow the rule.
