The Kaiser, The Tsar, and A Springtime Revolution:
The Three Flags of Independent Sudan:

(Note: Flag is from OTL)
The blue-yellow-green tricolour was adopted as the national flag of the Republic of the Sudan with its independence in 1929. The colours of the flag represented the River Nile (blue), the Sahara (yellow) and farmlands (green). They were chosen as they were neutral between ethnic groups and political parties. While Sudan had gained independence Egypt and Britain both retained a not inconsiderable amount of influence on the young nation while also maintaining some military forces in Sudan (mainly Khartoum and Port Sudan). Sudan at this time was a parliamentary republic with three major parties. The pro-Egyptian Umma Party, pro-British Union Party and the pro-Independence National Congress. While the most influential minor party was the Socialist Party of Sudan. 1939 saw both the British-Britannic War and the Ottoman-Egyptian War happen. Egyptian forces would leave to fight the Ottomans and British forces were reduced to minimal levels. Sudanese military would turn on the British as the Britannic forces invaded, while the Ottomans would also be victorious in Egypt. This would cause the collapse of the Umma-Union coalition in power then (they had begun as rivals but as National Congress grew more powerful had to form coalitions). A coalition of the National Congress and Socialist Party were put into power afterwards.

Next year with the Khartoum Agreement the former roles of Egypt and the British Empire were replaced with the Ottoman Empire and the Union of Britannic Syndicalist Commonwealths. It also saw a new semi-presidential republic being created in the Democratic Republic of the Sudan (with the same flag). It became a bipartisan nation as the Sudanese Communist Party (renamed from the Socialist Party) absorbed most of the Union Party and unified the non pan-Arab and non pan-Islamic parties under itself. Meanwhile the National Congress became the pro-Ottoman party and unified the mostly pan-Arab and pan-Islamic parties under itself. This arrangement continued until the 2nd Khartoum Agreement in 1965. Algeria and Egypt were granted more independence in their affairs while Hejaz-Levant had become independent. Ottomans were cutting back foreign involvement in general at the time. With 2nd Khartoum Agreement any official rights the Ottomans or the Britannic Union had in Sudan were discontinued. However soon afterwards the Communist party would ban the National Congress along with making the nation a presidential one.

(The party emblem is OTL)
The Democratic Republic of the Sudan would have the emblem of the Sudanese Communist Party on it as the nation became a single-party presidential one. The powers and influence that the UBSC had officially given away in the 2nd Khartoum Agreement were actually never lost. Sudan had become a full puppet state of the UBSC. This new form of the Sudanese state would last until 1985. When the nation allowed formation of opposition parties and the SCP was quickly defeated and its emblem was removed from the flag (the former flag was restored). The nation was also renamed the Republic of Sudan. It would remain a presidential republic. The old, plain tricolour would remain in use until 1988. (South Sudan would also become independent in 1977)

A black triangle was added to the hoist of the flag "to represent Africa and African people". This new presidential republic remains independent and continues to use this flag to the present day. The most powerful political parties currently active are the Democratic Unionist Party (nationalist, secular and liberal conservative), National Umma Party (nationalist and Islamic democrat), Liberal Party (centre-left social liberal) and the Alliance of Democratic Socialists (secular, democratic socialism) (the former Communist Party). The nation remains rather mostly undemocratic and has experienced two coups. Sudan is a member of the Commonwealth Free Trade Area but not the Commonwealth of Nations itself.

Flag of Republic of Nyasaland (1920–1947).png

Flag of the Republic of Nyasaland (1920-1947) which was used from its independence to annexation by the Britannic Union (being succeeded by the Britannic Syndicalist Commonwealth of Malawi, which itself was succeeded by the Republic of Malawi in 1986) after the South African War. It was among the first independent nations in Africa (10th or 9th). While an independent republic was generally pro British/Southern African, growing more neutral after the 1940 Treaty of Bangkok (going from a nation surrounded by Portuguese Mozambique and British African territories/dominions (specifically the Union of East Africa (Province of Tanganyika) and the Federation of Southern Africa (Central African Federation, State of North Rhodesia) (since 1925, before that the various predecessors of UEA and FSA)) to one between the Portuguese Mozambique, the UBSC (BSC of Tanganyika) and FSA (Central African Federation, State of North Rhodesia) (FSA, now an independent republic). However this new, more neutral policy was ended with a coup towards the end of 1945. The new government being a full FSA puppet. The South African War in 1946-47 would prove to be the end of independent Nyasaland (until the independence of Malawi during the dissolution of UBSC) with the Peace of Lourenço Marques creating the Britannic Syndicalist Commonwealth of Malawi in the Britannic Union.

baltic union flag doubly blue with russians too.png

I don't really have a good explanation for this one, a pretty ASB design I won't lie, but the basic idea was "South Africa flag, but Baltic?"

So, the backing field is made out of the Baltic German and Russian flag, with the governorates of Couronia and Livonia charged from left to right, with a civil design of the flag of Latgale on the far right.

My would have been entry to the latest flag challenge:
Kingdom of the Isles of Britain
kingdom-of-iob.png

Essentially following a successful Gunpowder Plot the infant Queen Elizabeth II/II/I is placed on the throne under the Earl of Northumberland as Regent.
Percy/Elizabeth's government is more "third wayist" than the Catholic plotters would like and eventually the plotters are discovered; Northumberland personally sends his cousin Thomas to be executed for treason for his part.
While the Anglican Churches (of England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, etc) are never brought back into Catholicism they don't get considered fully Protestant either, functioning more as an autocephalic church with reformist leanings.
Elizabeth is married to Henry of Bourbon and their dynasty becomes known as Condee.
The Condees maintain a joint government which causes the 3 parliaments to often sit together (as Scotland was unicameral its inclusion necessitated some ad hoc bicameral divisions). This evolves into a political union albeit with a more federal nature than OTL known as the Kingdom of the Isles of Britain.

I like the logo used by Biden's transition team and it made me think that it could be used on the positional flags of presidents elect and former presidents if they played a greater, legally defined role. The presidential flag below is simply the one used OTL

The design is similar enough to that of the president that the message is clear of a "president-ish" role yet distinct enough not to cause confusion. The president elect version would have a small wreath under the national emblem while for presidents "emeritus", the wreath would be replaced by the number of his presidency
(XX here. Trump was 45, Biden is 46)

It's honestly not that good in terms of the aesthetics I wanted to go with, but this was my attempt at a flag for a "United Kingdom of Great Britain, Ireland, and America" that I was working on for a worlda map I'm working on. If anyone has any other ideas on how to improve it, hit me with it.

I recall a cool anglosphere flag I saw on Reddit with a central Cross of Saint George, diagonal red and white stripes in the lower left and upper right quadrants with the remaining quadrants in blue, with a Big Dipper in the upper left and a Southern Cross in the lower right.

A low-effort flag for the United Kingdom of America, an elective monarchy in which the king serves a term for life. The thirteen stripes represent the original British colonies, the fifty stars the fifty crownlands.
