Flag of Carolingia, a near future federation of the Inner Six EU members. As the name suggests, the federation draws upon the legacy of Carolus Magnus for historical legitimacy and unity, as 1) he had reunified a similar "core" area of Europe, 2) he is a common ancestor of all Europeans, 3) the EU's trade deal premise wasn't exciting enough to build a shared identity and it fell apart anyway. The flag is derived from Carolus' attributed coat of arms, with the colours converted to stripes in typical European fashion. The black and gold represent the Germanic world and the blue and gold represent the Frankish/Romance world. The arms and flag combine both colour schemes to represent the union of different European realms.
