2020 Flag Idea - Alabama.png

Here's an idea I had for a redesign of the Alabama state flag. The blue stripe symbolizes the many rivers that traverse the state and the Gulf Coast that brings large amounts of tourism to Alabama. The red heart is symbolic of the state's nickname "Heart of Dixie."

UNSASE and UNSAPC? Something with United Nations but what exactly?
These were both organisational branches of UNSA, the United Nations Space Agency, itself created from the merger of UNOOSA (United Nations Office of Outer Space Affairs) and COPUOS(United Nations Commision on the Peaceful Use of Outer Space) in the late 21st century. UNSASE was United Nations Space Agency Space Exploration, which was created in 2116 to co-ordinate extrasolar exploration efforts, and which slowly acquired its own exploration vessels and expertise. It replaced UNSA's Department of Exploration. UNAPC was United Nations Space Agency Peacekeeping Command, which was created much later in the 22nd century with the massive expansion of UNSA's interstellar peacekeeping duties and interstellar fleet in general. It evolved to become the largest single command structure in human space until the collapse of UNSA in the late 25th century.

And I got some more Crumpleverse flags again, with the first one I've included that was... meant to be reflective of the lesser aesthetically pleasing flags of the world shall we say.

I care way too much about learning the meanings of acronyms. Also have you already posted parts 1 and 2? If yes can I get a link?

I have, but not on the flag thread I think- you can find the first two here https://www.deviantart.com/daeres/art/Flags-of-the-Crumpleverse-819619668 and here https://www.deviantart.com/daeres/art/Flags-of-the-Crumpleverse-2-820602171.

As for the acronyms on this one, Ubon SP is the Ubon Space Patrol (space patrol or orbital patrol usually implies that it's for self defense purposes or as much a rescue organisation as anything overtly defence-oriented), ISN is the Indian Space Navy, and RISNC is the Republic of India Space Navy Command, which is a descendant organisation of the ISN some centuries later, when India has become a federal interstellar nation encompassing India on Earth but also a number of other planets. It's also why the ISN flag looks more like other modern Indian military flags than RISNC's. Hra is not an acronym but the name of a planet predominantly founded by Rau and other Kra-Dai speaking peoples/cultures from southern China.

Flag of Nevada.png

This was an idea I head to redesign the Nevada state flag. The die in the canton is an obvious reference to the state's world-famous gambling/casino industry and the three bars allude to the "Silver and Gold" of the state's 1905 flag. The five pips in the die each represent a country or people that have laid claim to what is now Nevada: Spain, Mexico, the various Native American tribes, the Bear Flag Republic, and the United States.

Flag of the early 16th century union between Scotland and (Lower) Navarre. Seeking to avoid being absorbed by France or conquered by Aragon, Navarre allies itself with Scotland. No doubt this annoys France to no end.

And for a bonus, a different version that I decided I didn't like as much:

To pre-emptively give poor Gokbay acronym context, I figured I'd get that out the way early here! The FVU is the Free Visionary Union, a two-planet defensive pact/alliance between Shaja and Novgoroth crafted during the instability of the Interregnum. The flag incorporates colours from both of their flags, and suggests the horizontal stripes on both of their flags whilst still crafting distinct imagery trying to play off the idea of an eye and also a protective hexagon. ISA is the Interstellar Space Agency, the replacement humanitarian+diplomatic+peacekeeping organisation for UNSA that emerged in the mid-26th century. It utilises the same base colour as the old UNSA flags but rather than borrowing UN imagery tries to go for abstract representation of diversity and strength in numbers. As with UNSA there are many variants of this flag for different branches/organisations. IOAM was the Imperium of All Mankind, a neo-imperialist entity which took over the planet Alpha Centauri by coup in the early 25th century, and came the closest of any one power to militarily occupying the solar system via an overengineered monstrosity of a battleship. The flag's imagery deliberately invokes that of Imperial Japan, both the imperial chrysanthemum and the radiant sun, with a floral/solar element with 18 rays/petals (2 more than the number of petals on the Imperial chrysanthemum of the Japanese Emperor). PDTO is the Purple Dragon Treaty Organisation, an alliance similar to that of the FVU in that it was forged during the Interregnum between multiple planets for security. This flag was drawn up rather more hastily than that of the FVU, so doesn't have anything cool like an actual dragon on it, but the three bars represent the planets of Chang'an, Mali, and the Federal Moons of Anzhu. It's got a good representation of the fact that a number of these flags across all of the different graphics are historical, or were temporarily used. I have been tempted to do one which has the history of a single entity's flags across the 21st/22nd through to the 28th century.

The Crumpleverse aesthetic remains very cool. Are we going to get more write-ups for these polities?
