Got another round of Crumpleverse flags going on.

Alhaja

A world founded to create a 'secular al-Andalus', more so out of admiration for visual arts and material culture than out of any strong religious beliefs. However, Alhaja has subsequently become home to some of the most famous masjids outside of Earth. Its style became influential in the wider human sphere in the 24th century, in the wake of the Interstellar Sinan style and associated Neo-Ottoman school of design. The green is inspired by the current flag of Andalusia, whilst the main rounded design is taken from an Alhambra mosaic tile.

Alpha Centauri

Alpha Centauri was the second extrasolar colony founded by humanity. It has been a major part of interstellar affairs ever since, benefiting from the attention and funding of major Earth powers across its infancy and subsequently emerging as one of the most potent early human colonies. Its reputation as one of the greatest human worlds was seriously harmed in the 25th century, when a military coup led to the foundation of the Empire of All Humanity. This would-be-imperial power then attempted a galactic conquest that was thwarted at great cost, at a time when the human sphere was already reeling from major conflicts. Alpha Centauri has worked hard to make up for this stain on their history ever since. Its flag incorporates the ancient constellation of Centaurus, along with a pale teal background. This was thought to be a colour suggesting optimism, peaceful intent, and forward thinking.

Earth (post Interregnum)

Earth's nations had been relatively irrelevant to interstellar affairs since the late 22nd century, with one or two notable exceptions. Nonetheless, Earth remained the single largest population of humans in the galaxy. It was also home to hundreds of sites of special significance, important to societies scattered across the human sphere. And, of course, it was humanity's homeworld, with all of the associated gravitas that implied. So when Earth was threatened by interstellar warfare in the 25th century, in particular during the war against the Empire of All Humanity, it contributed to the deep unease punctuating that era. The outright collapse of UNSA in the final years of that century was especially disastrous as Earth's de facto unified government had relied on that organisation for many things, defence included. The possibility of harm to humanity's homeworld did not go unnoticed, and led to the creation of the Democratic Colonial Union by the worlds of New Mumbai, Kahlo, and Alpha Centauri. This firm alliance directly led to the foundation of ISA in the early 26th century and the resurrection of an interstellar peacekeeping force. By that point Earth's governments had come together in a more permanent fashion than ever before. Between that and the new creation of ISA it was felt the old UN flag was no longer a modern symbol of the planet and its peoples. This design, a radiating gold star in a field of navy fading into royal blue, was a bold design to reflect a bold intent, that this was a new era of optimism, not one in which human worlds would be fearful for their future.

Kanawha

Many of Earth's historically stateless, or disenfranchised, indigenous societies faced a choice with the coming of interstellar settlement; whether leaving Earth altogether meant the forsaking of ancient homelands and the final abdication of self determination on humanity's homeworld, or whether it represented new opportunities for self determination and the ability to determine their own terms of existence and relationship with the rest of humankind. There was no correct answer to this question. For many it was a matter of personal belief, rather than something an entire nation or society imposed on themselves. So it was for the Wyandot peoples of North America. Many of them remained on Earth, whilst others ventured into the stars. Kanawha was the result of the latter's efforts, representing a union of previously separate Wyandot peoples and bands coming together with their vision in 2135. Their flag was inspired by a number of Wyandot flags used on Earth, with the central turtle originally designed by Charles Edward Faber for the Wyandotte Nation of Oklahoma in 1977. The six stars surrounding the turtle were added to represent the six Wyandot nations that came together on Kanawha. The seven point star in the centre represents both the life-giving figure of Kanawha's sun and the fact that these six nations together created something greater than the sum of their parts.

Mars

Mars, across the late 21st century, was a symbol of humanity's future. It was the first urban-scale settlement outside of Earth. It was the first planet where an artificial magnetosphere was created. It was the first planetary-scale terraformation project humankind attempted. Asteroids were redirected for the sake of Mars' development, forever changing the form of the solar system and representing humanity's first large scale engineering in the void between planets. But it was not simply a planet of firsts. Mars remained the second most important human world after Earth for many centuries afterwards. In the 25th and 26th centuries Mars, in some senses, was actually more important than Earth because of its massive industrial capacity and shipbuilding facilities in orbit. Its early flags relied on 20th and 21st century imaginations, many referencing Mars' astrological symbol. But this was seen as massively cliche, and efforts were soon underway to replace these early flags with something new. This flag was the result; the highly stylised M stands on red for the planet's soil, as well as being a colour held in common by the originally Russian, Japanese, and American colonists. The two circles on either side represent Mars' two largest moons.

New Ibadan

Nigeria invested in many of Earth's early settlement projects, particularly when the use of the bubble drive restricted interstellar capacity to a very few nations. But the development of the crumple drive saw an explosion in the number of nations capable of putting human beings on other planets, and Nigeria was unwilling to be left behind. By 2111 three separate offworld missions had been funded and planned by Nigeria, and the first of those to be launched was the New Ibadan mission of 2113. This was a predominantly Yoruba-led settlement of a garden world many times larger than Earth. The existing world of New Mumbai, with its high speed transportation and variagated urban environments, was a particular inspiration, and the arcology remains the most common form of urbanism on New Ibadan to the present day. The flag is intended to look sleek and modern whilst still referencing the colours of Oyo state's flag and the banded stripes of Lagos, Osun, and Bayelsa's state flags. It's believed among New Ibadani that the red bands with their protrusions are a reference to an Nsibidi glyph, though this was denied by the original designers.

Sinai

The Egyptian founded colony of Sinai was intended to be a calculated risk- despite its predominantly arid conditions the planet had an existing breathable atmosphere, and its solar system was host to easily accessible mineral deposits. In an era increasingly defined by garden worlds, or terraformation candidates, this was a bold choice. It was one which paid off- it was realised that the solar system was flush enough with resources to justify the creation of full scale shipbuilding facilities. Completed in 2159, these shipyards were the furthest away from Earth by some margin at that point. By the present day the world is mostly known for the diversity of its urban environments. Many cities are built underground, others exist in the narrow verdant bands of the planet's surface, others still are built in the open desert and rely on highly sophisticated technology to remain pleasant places in which to live. There's also Mefkat station, a metropolis tier habitat in orbit over the planet. The flag shows the strong rays of Sinai's sun, with the two most important worlds of the solar system in orbit around it; Sinai itself, with its moon Nana, and the rocky world of Tharwa upon which Sinai's mineral wealth was built.

A flag of the Republic of Muladia

ymaz0124wcz31.png

The Republic of Muladia is a country located in OTL Brazil, south of the Amazon (known as the Al-Ghab river in this world). The 8 pointed star is a symbol of the Muladi people, and the Checkerboard represents their Iberian roots. The Green represents Islam and the rainforest.
