This is a flag which could have been used if Eamon de Valera had agreed with normal dominion status and the Anglo-Irish treaty had been signed with little debate. The union jack representing the dominion status.

Hey guys, I'm back with more flags to present tonight: after posting my "ODESSA - Black Sun Argentina" flag last time, I decided to look back at my previous ODESSA flag designs and see if I can revamp them with new designs, as they weren't particularly great in comparisons to my most recent designs. As such, what I have for you now are entirely new designs for ODESSA, starting with the 'master' flag for the entire organization down below:

For those familiar with my previous work - particularly with my personal alt-history map that you can find the latest version of here - I've made plenty of references to the ODESSA group as part of the background fluff - particularly in regards to Rhodesia and Argentina most notably - where they basically serve as a thinly-veiled excuse to still have OG-type Nazis running around as bad guys to beat up. Unlike the more outlandish interpretations of them seen in fiction, my take on them is less the "world-spanning evil conspiracy bent on establishing a Fourth Reich", and more of a mix of mercenary group, criminal syndicate, and ideological die-hards, the latter-most of which is the closest to the aforementioned "evil conspiracy" cliche, but in reality the said conspiracy is little more than "keep the cause alive" rather than "take over the world".

The closest they get to having an outright Nazi nation-state is Rhodesia, which is the next flag here in the line:

The Independent State of Rhodesia is the closest place you'll get to a modern 'Fourth Reich' around... albeit in the loosest terms, as Rhodesia here is more of a bastardized amalgamation of Boer-Afrikaner nationalists from apartheid South Africa, the Objectivist leftovers from Ayn Rand's ill-fated Katanga venture (a wholly-lifted reference to the popular Fountainhead Filibuster TL), and the higher-ranked remnants of the Zweites Afrika-Korps stranded in the Congo (from my "Reichskommissariat Mittelafrika" scenario). Despite how ideologically-deviant Rhodesian Nazism is though, ODESSA is more than willing to tolerate its weirdness, given the huge stacks of cash gained from the Objectivists, and how Rhodesia attracts white-nationalists worldwide like flies; and the international community is loathe to do anything about it, due to fears of rumored Rhodesian nukes stolen from South Africa during the latter's de-nuclearization...

However, those very same advantages (along side the usual atrocities and crimes against humanity the Nazis are known for) are what makes Rhodesia an international pariah, diplomatically and economically isolated from the world. The only links to the global economy it has are from South Africa (the dwindling supporters of the previous apartheid-era government), and the United Republic of the Congo... or rather, the loose collection of mercenary groups that succeeded the Zweite Afrika-Korps:

The Mittelafrikan Branch here traces its origins to the Zweites Afrika-Korps, the Wehrmacht expeditionary force sent to establish Reichskommissariat Mittelafrika in the captured territories of the Belgian Congo and neighboring French colonies; unlike the Erstes Afrika-Korps (the famous one led by Erwin Rommel), the Zweites Afrika-Korps got a lot less material support from Germany - seeing as how the North African front was more strategically important due to the Suez Canal - and so the ZAK was forced to make do with less, relying on captured equipment from Belgian/French colonial garrisons and the support of the native populations (who, understandably, hated their Belgian & French colonial overlords). Unfortunately for them, that wouldn't be enough to sustain them in the long run against the British, and after Rommel was kicked out of North Africa, the ZAK troops were effectively stranded in the Congo Basin; seeing the writing on the wall, they shoved off the bare-bones colonial administration they created onto the natives, stashed their weapons and gear in the mountains, and scattered into the European colonial settlements to hide from the incoming British troops.

Forced to lay low for the rest of the war, it wasn't until the 50's that the remnants of the ZAK partially came out of hiding; being still stranded in the Congo, many of them began recovering some of their hidden weapons caches, carving out for themselves a career as mercenaries among the very unstable 'United' Republic of the Congo... some of them ending up in the employ of Ayn Rand, during her stint as a wannabe dictator in the Katanga Region. After Rand's downfall, the Katanga Region was snapped up and annexed by neighboring Rhodesia, which took in the wayward ZAK mercenaries, thus forming the core of the Rhodesian Branch of ODESSA. The rest of the ZAK remnants continued to operate independently as mercenaries in the Congo, though they maintained ties to their former compatriots in Rhodesia, engaging in smuggling and trafficking for them across the Congolese-Rhodesian border; aside from that, however, the Mittelafrikan Branch hardly cares about Nazi ideology anymore: for them, it's just about getting paid and living another day.

As a contrast to the Mittelafrikan Branch, the Nordafrikan Branch of ODESSA has its roots in the closing days of WWII, when Berlin was being destroyed by the Soviets and Hitler was trapped ranting in a bunker: with the Third Reich facing its imminent demise, many Nazi elites were preparing for their own escapes, abandoning their posts to don disguises and forged passports, and calling in favors with various collaborators and unsavory characters to smuggle them out of Germany. Like rats fleeing from a sinking ship, the "Ratlines" were an informal network of escape routes and hideouts used by the Nazis to try to evade capture by the Allies and make it abroad to neutral countries. Among those Ratlines, Libya was a prominent way-station for those heading for the Middle East or for Sub-Saharan Africa; it was where Rommel's Afrika Korps fought, after all, so it felt like a natural place to head for. With some help from the Catholic Church and the Italian Mafia, the SS at Himmler's direction established some Ratlines destined for the former Italian colony, shortly before Himmler's own death while attempting to flee through Allied lines.

After the war, when ODESSA began to coalesce among the Waffen-SS expats who've fled overseas, the old Ratlines to Libya were re-purposed as smuggling routes for the organization's criminal operations around the Mediterranean: whether it was gun-running, human-trafficking, or the drug trade, the Libyan Ratline was profitable for ODESSA, even under the Communist government of the Libyan Socialist Republic, thanks to the cooperation of the illegal Libyan Fascist Party.

The final destination for many Nazis fleeing through the Libyan Ratline, the Kingdom of Hasanid Arabia at first glance was not what you would call an ideal hiding place - being ruled by the Hashemites, who were nominally affiliated with the British, were not particularly inclined to accommodate runaway Nazi war criminals; however, there was one group in Arabia that was more than willing to shelter them: the rogue House of Saud, longtime enemies of the Hashemites and adherents to the extremist Wahhabist sect of Islam. Bent on overthrowing the Hashemites to gain the throne for themselves, and harboring a hatred of Jews and the newly-founded State of Israel, the Saudis were perfectly happy to throw money towards ODESSA's direction if it helped their own goals. Though they never would succeed in destroying their Hashemite rivals, nor the hated Israeli infidels, the Saudis were still happy to sit on their massive oil wealth and bankroll ODESSA's terrorist activities against Israel, as few and far between they are, given the ruthless pursuit of Mossad.

The only European branch of any note left, the French Branch of ODESSA is less composed of actual Nazis and more of leftover collaborators and sympathizers from the defunct French Popular Party. The purpose of the French Branch was to facilitate the escape of Nazis stationed in occupied France to South America, along with whatever Nazi gold or stolen artwork they managed to bring with them. With virtually all of the Nazis in Europe that could've escaped capture and flee Europe having already done so, what remained of the French Branch in the modern day is little more than snooty French nationalists who liked Nazi racial ideology. While ODESSA would love to just cut them loose, since Nazism is banned in modern Germany (and all of Eastern Europe despises them), they'd then be left without any foothold in Europe; as such, they're stuck with them.

One of the two big branches of ODESSA in South America, and the third largest in the entire organization, behind Rhodesia and Argentina, the Brazilian branch is composed of a sizable chunk of the Nazis who fled to South America after the end of World War II; after the chaos of the Great South American War, the post-Vargas Brazilian government was in poor shape and unable to do much in the way of screening the migrant refugees from Europe. Being too busy cleaning up the mess made from the Integralists and Communists brawling in the streets, and reeling from the humiliating loss of Rio Grande de Sul to Argentina (who arrogantly renamed themselves La Plata), the Brazilian government failed to notice the many suspiciously German-speaking immigrants from France. The Integralists, on the other hand, did notice these German-speaking newcomers, and granted them asylum within their own ranks across Brazil. Although the AIB (Brazilian Integralist Action) led by Plínio Salgado was fairly non-racial, there existed an anti-Semitic faction within it led by Gustavo Barroso, and the AIB's anti-Semitic wing was willing to bring in the Nazi expats to bolster their badly-depleted ranks after the violent street clashes during the GSAW. These Nazis would not stay with the Integralists for long, however, as shortly afterwards ODESSA would be born in La Plata; the "Boys from Brazil" would then strike out on their own to set up shop deep within the jungle to avoid detection and being visited by assassination squads from Mossad.

Second largest branch in size within all of ODESSA, but arguably the most important one, the Argentine Branch is where the ODESSA organization actually got its official start: with Argentina coming off high from its victory in the Great South American War, the newly-renamed La Plata soon received a number of German refugees fleeing from Europe after the end of WWII... said 'refugees', of course, largely consisted of Nazis fleeing prosecution from the vengeful Allies for their war crimes; La Plata, however, had no investment in the European conflict, and eager to profit from the technical expertise and stolen treasure these Nazis brought with them, allowed them into the country with open arms. The majority of these Nazi exiles proceeded to simply retire and blend into the already-present German-immigrant communities that resided in La Plata... but there were quite a few die-hards who didn't: these would be the former SS members who would go on to form the Organisation Der Ehemaligen SS-Angehörigen - ODESSA. Of course, they realized they had no real chance of success: they were all that was left of the Third Reich, a pitiful band of fugitives hiding from the Allied Nations in the backwaters of Argentina. All they could hope to do was keep the flame of the cause alive: so they built their own little isolated, hidden communities out in the countryside, staying out of sight during the Peron regime.

However, when the Piratini Republic successfully rebelled and declared independence from La Plata, ODESSA saw a chance to advance their own goals, and approached the military with an offer to assist in a coup d'etat to overthrow the Peron government; the military accepted the offer, and soon enough the Argentine League was proclaimed by a military junta in Buenos Aires. For the following decades up to the modern day, the fascist military dictatorship of the Argentine League continues to persist, in part thanks to the backing and funding of ODESSA.

And that's the story behind my take of ODESSA, as told via its branch flags! Dark and morbid the subject matter may be, but I hope you enjoyed the flags! Until next time!

To be fair, they're not the darkest and most morbid subject matter I came across, I can certainly think of worse than Nazis and Soviets combined IMO (of both the leftwing and rightwing varieties).

Got another Overheaven flag, this time for Partizanja, AKA "Yugos on Mars".

The flag features the blue-white-red tricolor of the Pan-Slavic Movement, combined with a circular device comprised of one-half semicircular Pan-Slavic flag and one-half semicircular black bar; a red disk for Mars, with a gold-bordered red star for socialism, and a blue bar with the date, 29 November 1943 printed in white.

The black semicircle represents space and its dangers, as well as the dark past, struggles, war and hardships which Yugoslavia has had to face. The tricolor semicircle rises triumphantly above the black semicircle, positively affirming the strength of unity of the Yugoslav people and their ability to rise above strife and the challenges of space. Mars is conquered by the star of socialist labor and the Yugoslav people soar above it.

29 November 1943 is the date that the Anti-Fascist Council for the National Liberation of Yugoslavia (AVNOJ) met in Jajce and formed the basis for post-war organisation of the country, establishing a federal republic.

The flag of the Yugoslav Republic of Partizanja was originally adopted in the 1980's when the colony was established almost entirely thanks to Japanese assistance. In the 23rd century, a near-identical flag is flown in the modern Martian polity of Partizanja, minus the blue stripe or the date printed on it. The resemblance to the Rising Sun is just a happy coincidence, but it works, since most Partizanjians have at least partial Kaseian ancestry, and Japanese culture has blended into the thick stew of Balkan-Slavic bits and bobs which make up modern Partizanja.

What if you moved the star in the middle of the circle (sun) on the second flag?
I think it would look cool.

Got another round of Crumpleverse flags going on.

    Alhaja

A world founded to create a 'secular al-Andalus', more so out of admiration for visual arts and material culture than out of any strong religious beliefs. However, Alhaja has subsequently become home to some of the most famous masjids outside of Earth. Its style became influential in the wider human sphere in the 24th century, in the wake of the Interstellar Sinan style and associated Neo-Ottoman school of design. The green is inspired by the current flag of Andalusia, whilst the main rounded design is taken from an Alhambra mosaic tile.

    Alpha Centauri

Alpha Centauri was the second extrasolar colony founded by humanity. It has been a major part of interstellar affairs ever since, benefiting from the attention and funding of major Earth powers across its infancy and subsequently emerging as one of the most potent early human colonies. Its reputation as one of the greatest human worlds was seriously harmed in the 25th century, when a military coup led to the foundation of the Empire of All Humanity. This would-be-imperial power then attempted a galactic conquest that was thwarted at great cost, at a time when the human sphere was already reeling from major conflicts. Alpha Centauri has worked hard to make up for this stain on their history ever since. Its flag incorporates the ancient constellation of Centaurus, along with a pale teal background. This was thought to be a colour suggesting optimism, peaceful intent, and forward thinking.

    Earth (post Interregnum)

Earth's nations had been relatively irrelevant to interstellar affairs since the late 22nd century, with one or two notable exceptions. Nonetheless, Earth remained the single largest population of humans in the galaxy. It was also home to hundreds of sites of special significance, important to societies scattered across the human sphere. And, of course, it was humanity's homeworld, with all of the associated gravitas that implied. So when Earth was threatened by interstellar warfare in the 25th century, in particular during the war against the Empire of All Humanity, it contributed to the deep unease punctuating that era. The outright collapse of UNSA in the final years of that century was especially disastrous as Earth's de facto unified government had relied on that organisation for many things, defence included. The possibility of harm to humanity's homeworld did not go unnoticed, and led to the creation of the Democratic Colonial Union by the worlds of New Mumbai, Kahlo, and Alpha Centauri. This firm alliance directly led to the foundation of ISA in the early 26th century and the resurrection of an interstellar peacekeeping force. By that point Earth's governments had come together in a more permanent fashion than ever before. Between that and the new creation of ISA it was felt the old UN flag was no longer a modern symbol of the planet and its peoples. This design, a radiating gold star in a field of navy fading into royal blue, was a bold design to reflect a bold intent, that this was a new era of optimism, not one in which human worlds would be fearful for their future.

    Kanawha

Many of Earth's historically stateless, or disenfranchised, indigenous societies faced a choice with the coming of interstellar settlement; whether leaving Earth altogether meant the forsaking of ancient homelands and the final abdication of self determination on humanity's homeworld, or whether it represented new opportunities for self determination and the ability to determine their own terms of existence and relationship with the rest of humankind. There was no correct answer to this question. For many it was a matter of personal belief, rather than something an entire nation or society imposed on themselves. So it was for the Wyandot peoples of North America. Many of them remained on Earth, whilst others ventured into the stars. Kanawha was the result of the latter's efforts, representing a union of previously separate Wyandot peoples and bands coming together with their vision in 2135. Their flag was inspired by a number of Wyandot flags used on Earth, with the central turtle originally designed by Charles Edward Faber for the Wyandotte Nation of Oklahoma in 1977. The six stars surrounding the turtle were added to represent the six Wyandot nations that came together on Kanawha. The seven point star in the centre represents both the life-giving figure of Kanawha's sun and the fact that these six nations together created something greater than the sum of their parts.

    Mars

Mars, across the late 21st century, was a symbol of humanity's future. It was the first urban-scale settlement outside of Earth. It was the first planet where an artificial magnetosphere was created. It was the first planetary-scale terraformation project humankind attempted. Asteroids were redirected for the sake of Mars' development, forever changing the form of the solar system and representing humanity's first large scale engineering in the void between planets. But it was not simply a planet of firsts. Mars remained the second most important human world after Earth for many centuries afterwards. In the 25th and 26th centuries Mars, in some senses, was actually more important than Earth because of its massive industrial capacity and shipbuilding facilities in orbit. Its early flags relied on 20th and 21st century imaginations, many referencing Mars' astrological symbol. But this was seen as massively cliche, and efforts were soon underway to replace these early flags with something new. This flag was the result; the highly stylised M stands on red for the planet's soil, as well as being a colour held in common by the originally Russian, Japanese, and American colonists. The two circles on either side represent Mars' two largest moons.

    New Ibadan

Nigeria invested in many of Earth's early settlement projects, particularly when the use of the bubble drive restricted interstellar capacity to a very few nations. But the development of the crumple drive saw an explosion in the number of nations capable of putting human beings on other planets, and Nigeria was unwilling to be left behind. By 2111 three separate offworld missions had been funded and planned by Nigeria, and the first of those to be launched was the New Ibadan mission of 2113. This was a predominantly Yoruba-led settlement of a garden world many times larger than Earth. The existing world of New Mumbai, with its high speed transportation and variagated urban environments, was a particular inspiration, and the arcology remains the most common form of urbanism on New Ibadan to the present day. The flag is intended to look sleek and modern whilst still referencing the colours of Oyo state's flag and the banded stripes of Lagos, Osun, and Bayelsa's state flags. It's believed among New Ibadani that the red bands with their protrusions are a reference to an Nsibidi glyph, though this was denied by the original designers.

    Sinai

The Egyptian founded colony of Sinai was intended to be a calculated risk- despite its predominantly arid conditions the planet had an existing breathable atmosphere, and its solar system was host to easily accessible mineral deposits. In an era increasingly defined by garden worlds, or terraformation candidates, this was a bold choice. It was one which paid off- it was realised that the solar system was flush enough with resources to justify the creation of full scale shipbuilding facilities. Completed in 2159, these shipyards were the furthest away from Earth by some margin at that point. By the present day the world is mostly known for the diversity of its urban environments. Many cities are built underground, others exist in the narrow verdant bands of the planet's surface, others still are built in the open desert and rely on highly sophisticated technology to remain pleasant places in which to live. There's also Mefkat station, a metropolis tier habitat in orbit over the planet. The flag shows the strong rays of Sinai's sun, with the two most important worlds of the solar system in orbit around it; Sinai itself, with its moon Nana, and the rocky world of Tharwa upon which Sinai's mineral wealth was built.

A flag of the Republic of Muladia

The Republic of Muladia is a country located in OTL Brazil, south of the Amazon (known as the Al-Ghab river in this world). The 8 pointed star is a symbol of the Muladi people, and the Checkerboard represents their Iberian roots. The Green represents Islam and the rainforest.
