A Communist Confederacy flag.
The south lost some kind of war against USA during late '800 or early '900 and, at the end, like Russia, the people take conscience to live in a terrible dictatorship and overtrhow the slaveholders.
Lacking, like Russia, of a strong democratic and/or political culture the American Communist Party took power in the 11 states left after the war.

islamic_italy_by_filobeche-dcrehm8.png

A flag of Muslim Italy.
The colors are the italian ones, but arranged as an islamic states.
Probably from a future where the majority of population is been islamized.

I like this flag. I don't think there will be a majority-Islamic state in Italy, except in a case of active invasion. But... could I use this flag for the Emirate of Sicily in the TL in my signature?

The pearl stands for the Pearl Revolution, which refers both to the 2078 riots against the Chinese Communist Party and the slow (read: it took almost a century) process of democratisation that followed.
(that is the only context that will be given :p )

This is a bit late, but what is the difference between an army and a 'ground force'?

The flag of the Mongol Republic.
the republic is a vassal state of China comprehensive of Outer, inner Mongolia and Manchuria

Atenist Flag.png

Flag of the People of Aten, a pagan revivalist organization in Egypt. The symbolism is as follows: the field represents the sky, the charge depicts Aten and his life-giving rays, the yellow band represents the desert, and the blue band represents the Nile.

Croatia.png

Flag of the Illyrian Duchies, consisting of Croatia, Slavonia and Dalmatia.

LaLouisane.png

Flag of a more liberal Ancien Regime. The stars represent liberty, equality, and brotherhood.

It's been a while since I last posted any flags (as I've kinda ran out of ideas for any), but one thing that I've been trying to do was come up with a standardized system for Pan-Arab flag designs (as was evident in some earlier posts of mine here); while I've not quite accomplishing what I had in mind, I did end up with an altogether different set of flags for an alt-history scenario where the Arab states of the Middle East unified into a United Federation of Arabia, with each of the constituent states becoming 'Emirates' within the wider Federation, and each Emirate has their own flag. So, to start off with:

ZTj8RVE.png

Here is the flag for the Emirate of Hejaz, of which the black-white-green tricolor with the red trapezoid forms the basis for every flag within the UFA, with the trapezoid containing the differentiating emblem that represents the respective emirates. Here, the Crescent & Star fills the role of representing Hejaz (historically governed by the Hashemite dynasty, and home to the holy cities of Mecca and Medina).

JSkVWhm.png

Next, the flag for the Emirate of Ha'il, which historically was once called Jabal Shammar, and was home to the House of Rashid (long-time historic rivals to the infamous House of Saud). The Crescent & Star pattern here comes from the historic Jabal Shammar flag.

byyePlU.png

The next flag is, of course, for the Emirate of Nejd, the homeland of the infamous House of Saud (of which OTL modern Saudi Arabia gets its name from). The three swords are, of course, from the IRL Saudi flag but multiplied by three, to take the place of the Shahada.

YvqNfp0.png

The next flag on the list is for the Emirate of Yemen; the two swords on the flag here are supposed to be reminiscent of the historical flag of the Kingdom of Yemen from 1927 to 1962.

Iqv1r3w.png

The next flag here following the Yemen one is, predictably, the flag for the Emirate of Oman. It should come to no surprise that the IRL Omani national emblem is used here.

gbB0qyR.png

Next up is the flag for the Emirate of the Trucial States (an old historical name for the IRL United Arab Emirates).

m4BueFz.png

After that are the flags for the Emirates of Qatar (top one) and Bahrain (bottom one); if the patterns look similar, that's because the IRL flags of both Qatar and Bahrain share that same problem too.

The next three flags here are, in order from top to bottom: the Emirates of Jordan, Iraq, and Syria. All three flags are deliberately modeled after the IRL flags of Jordan, Iraq, and Syria during the 1920's, hence the increasing number of 7-point stars (Jordan had one while Iraq had two; while Syria also had one, I went with three to keep up the pattern, and because the Syrian flag historically had used three [5-point] stars at various points during the 20th century).

The second-to-last flag here on the list is for the Emirate of Kuwait, of which its emblem is literally just the name of Kuwait written in Arabic, which appeared on the Kuwaiti flag from 1899 to 1956 in various formats.

1YvZ8i1.png

Lastly, the flag for the Emirate of Lebanon, which just has the Lebanon Cedar tree seen on the IRL Lebanon flag.

And that's all the flags I have for tonight - I have a couple others that are unrelated to the Pan-Arab theme of these flags, but let's have a little breather in-between posts, shall we?

Until next time!

Hapsburg

Banned
Zeroing in on one of the examples:
The banner of the Kingdom of Balendor. Despite its name, Balendor has not been ruled by a king in over four centuries. Situated astride a peninsula, Cape Balen, the kingdom once controlled the expansive grasslands of the Karkuz Plateau and the fertile farmland of northern Dorei Valley. Predominantly gnomish, its people were among the first to tame dragons. The kingdom was instrumental in the creation of the Old Empire, being one of the major powers in the West. While the Empire was always a confederation without a single central ruler, Balendor was the strongest constituent state and its King acted frequently as the figurehead of the Empire. Its long-lived people led to remarkable stability before and during the Empire. Its last king, Patricius, was a renowned wizard and engineer who, during his tenure as Crown Prince, oversaw the construction of a network of teleportation circles in major coastal cities. He reigned during the Orcish Invasion in 400 and fell in battle during the last battle against the orcs in 415. In the chaos, the dragons fled, forever robbing Balendor and the Old Empire of its aerial advantage. With him died the magic that made his teleportation circles function. The magical wonders became ruins, its stones broken down for building materials or taken as souvenirs by victorious orc khans. The Karkuz Plateau was seized as grazing land for the orcish horde's vast horse flock. The Dorei Valley was cut up between the Orcish Khaganate and several dwarven successor kingdoms.
After the King's death in 415, a regency council took control of the Balendish rump state, fortifying its capital along the Dorei Estuary and setting up a system of border defences to fend off orcish raids and dwarven attacks. It maintained strong relations with the Eldunari League to the south, but frequently engaged in wars over valuable farmland with Eldorei. Despite its small size, its rich timberlands enabled the construction of a powerful navy to patrol the Balen Bay and protect its oceangoing trade to the south.

Its flag, originally the royal banner, is an embroidered golden dragon on a richly-hued blue field. The dragon recalls the dragontaming which first empowered Balendor, and blue is the color of royal authority.

Flag of Chinese Empire.
The Empire arose from the ashes of Qing invasion of Mings.
The new dynasty, the Weis, defended the core Chinese lands and, after years of trouble, to extend control over Mongolia and Manchuria.
Foreigners are a trouble, but they are unable to push into mainland (Still controlling Hong Kong and other costal cities). The real troubles come from Japan, whom bases are nearer.

That sun is not properly centered within the blue canton. Annoying.

Also, isn't this just the Republic of China flag recolored? It's pretty much just the RoC flag recolored.

The sun is not centered

You are right, i dunno because sun and quarter come from the same flag.
The Design is intentional copy of RoC but with tye yello, the imperial color.
Quarterm probably needs to go black.

Hello again! I've got some more flags to share tonight - I even have another entire set of themed flags! - but before I get to those, I'll share the ones that are largely unrelated to each other theme-wise. On to tonight's first batch of flags:

RyKMsb2.png

Tonight's first flag is for Communist Sweden, or "Folkhemmet" as it's known in Hearts of Iron 4.

E40Y55L.png

The second flag is another one for Sweden, but this time for the Fascist "Svea Rike" (also a name from Hearts of Iron 4). If you're wondering what the Valknut is doing here, from what I can gather from Wikipedia (yes, I know, not the most definitive of sources), the Valknut is somewhat associated with the Norse god Odin - fascists like drawing upon Norse mythology, so it rather fits.

ypkkafF.png

The third flag here is just a Syndicalist America flag that replaces the stars with a cogwheel, pickaxe, and sledgehammer (a unique variant I've been using lately for many of my recent socialist-themed flags).

n9fFG7P.png

This next flag here is for the "Christian Dominion of America", a national-populist/fascist theocratic dictatorship under the rule of William Dudley Pelley, one of the most batshit insane figures in the history of the American far-right. The design itself is not original to me: it's actually a recreation of the NatPop flag for the American Union State of Kaiserreich fame - there's a focus-tree path where Pelley can backstab Huey Long with a coup to seize control of the AUS and transform it into a racist theocracy where Jim Crow reigns supreme, a perverted form of Christianity is shoved down everybody's throats, and Syndicalism is demonized to the point that polio vaccines are considered a syndie plot to steal people's bodily fluids... which, as one might expect, has hilariously disastrous results. It's levels of black comedy that rivals The New Order mod's Darkest Timeline shenanigans.

The only modification I made to the design is adding in a blue border, as the white background makes the corners look odd to me.

fe9cTVp.png

The last flag for this post is a simple recreation of an improved Republic of Burma flag I found over on deviantART. It's a really good flag design that I just had to copy - and as @Ephraim Ben Raphael said on this very page, "If a flag is really good, a man is not only right to steal it, he is obligated to do so"!;)

That's this post's worth of flags, but that's not all I have for tonight! Stay tuned for more!

And now for tonight's main event, an entire series of flags for the constituent republics of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia!

Now to be perfectly clear and up-front about this - these are not my own designs: they're actually recreations of a collection of flags designed by deviantART member Leoninia, whose designs I found so brilliant I just had to recreate them myself!

As the old saying goes, "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery." ...Plus what @Ephraim Ben Raphael said earlier too.;)

Flag #1: The Socialist Republic of Serbia. (I had to get creative with the firesteels, using several crown overlays and covering them up with red line overlays.)

8nSm3Jo.png

Flag #2: Socialist Republic of Croatia. (To get the shield shape, I didn't bother with an actual shield overlay and just used a block overlay and a half-circle overlay.)

BGCN33i.png

Flag #3: Socialist Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina. (Remember the troubles I had in the previous two flags? Well, I ended up just creating separate 'coat of arms' files for the Serbian and Croatian emblems, used those as full overlays for those flags respectively, and then did the same thing for the Bosnian flag here. Saved me a lot of space in the overlays sidebar, I tell you what.)

bPVBWtX.png

Flag #4: Socialist Republic of Slovenia. (Was a bit difficult to figure out how to recreate it, but it turned out pretty nicely in the end.)

3q7tQ0x.png

Flag #5: Socialist Republic of Montenegro. (Despite being significantly more stylized/simplified, recreating the "Black Mount" was a bitch-and-a-half. Worked out well enough, though.)

AzcCYyx.png

Flag #6: Socialist Republic of Northern Macedonia. (And yes, I went with "Northern Macedonia" as it's now IRL the official name of the country after years of negotiations and bitching from Greece over it... of course, Greece is still not entirely happy with it, but who else cares?)

VQYBETe.png

Flag #7: Socialist Republic of Albania. (Yes, you heard that right: the only major deviation I made with the alt-history here is drawing more upon my personal alt-history map, where I had SFR Yugoslavia absorb most of Albania with the southern portion going to Greece; Vojvodina meanwhile was given to the Danubian Federation, hence why I don't have a flag for Vojvodina. As for why Kosovo doesn't have flag here too, I just went with the excuse of it being merged with SR-Albania due to similar ethnic demographics.)

And that's everything I have for tonight! Until next time!
