I've got two flags to show today, both being flags of a Pan-German state encompassing Germany proper, the Lowlands, Austria and Bohemia. Both are based on the old South African flag. For those who have visited the map thread and seen my recent maps, this is the flag of the Germany in those maps.

The main difference is the center 'joining' flap. EvolvedSaurian suggested that I do one with Prussia's black-white-black as the core flag, so in order to make it more than just a palette swap, I added the provisional coat of arms of the German Empire in 1871. This German state is a republic, so the lack of a crown on the eagle is intentional.

I'd love to know what everyone thinks as, while it may not look like it, I put a good bit of work into the flags and the maps. Thank you.

Just an idea I had regarding the German Confederation (1815-1866, with a short break ;)). Since it had no official flag (and the modern tricolour is often wrongly attributed to it) I designed this little thing:

Enjoy!

Found this labelled 'Socialist America' so take that as you will. Not sure why or how I managed to equate the title and flag...

The "emblem" in the middle actually reads 'Allah' in Arabic. Perhaps an Arab Socialist Republic or something?

To celebrate the arrival of this thread, I present another Disney-based flag (based on the film Atlantis: The Lost Empire, the same inspiration for my Flag of Atlantis)

The Flag of the Cult of Kashekim Nedakh (Voiced by Leonard Nimoy in the film)
Though responsible for the sinking of the great city, his wisdom and longevity have gained him an ardent following long after his death. King Nedakh's stone guardian joins his predecessors' in the heavens.

The text on the left is the King's name written in the Atlantean script. The fully functional language and the script were devised by Marc Okrand, the same guy who created Klingon.

(no copyright infringement intended)

Challenges: Polish Kongo (c. 1890)

A variation of Thoughtless Miscreant's flag. I used the so-called Katanga Cross, one of the Congolese regional heraldic figures, based on an old copper ignot currency with a roughly cross-like shape (pretty much an African analogue of Old Slavic hrivnas). In this TL, the Katanga province of the colony is regarded as having an even more strategic value by the Poles than by the OTL Belgian colonial government.

Hmmm... what about one for the Republic of Taiwan that threw off the KMT in an Arab Spring after Chiang Kai-shek died?

Wow, gone for a couple days and a couple dozen posts happen. :D

First off, I really like the Burgundy/Netherlands flag at the end of the last thread; simple, yet appealing.

Challenge: Flag of a Germany where Prussia is neither leader nor a member. This Germany dislikes both Prussia and Austria. I need this for my American King story.
