Damn, that's almost like the Czech-Moravian-Silesian Federative flag I made recently. Bummer.

It actually isn't, but I'm surprised we both came up with the same layout idea. The only difference is that your's has the red field on the right side of the flag, mine is vice versa.

BTW, you might want to use png on the collection picture as well (even though you'll probably have to lower its size a bit after that).

Simple designs lend themselves to duplication or near duplication, merely because of their simplicity.


P.S. I tried using the PNG format, but the file was way too big. I think that shrinking the collection picture enough to use the PNG format would make it too small to view easily.

Indeed. I once made a Nordic Cross Czech flag and only later noticed that it's nearly identical to the flag of the Faroe Islands.

Well, you can always split it into two bigger pictures, then use PNG. I admit that the attachments have pretty restricting file size limits, but there are workarounds for this.

I like the second one; it's distinctive and the colors seem appropriate. (Nile river running through desert and farmland, etc.)

Are we talking about a flag for all of OTL Sudan, the northern half, or the southern half? It makes a big difference as to what might be appropriate.

Only if the designers of the Amtrak logo traveled forward in time from 1971 to 1994 to steal the idea.

I know, their theft is all the more impressive.

I quite like that one as well. The only problem with it is that it's a total rip-off of the Tanzanian flag.

For the northern half, of course. Or 2010 Sudan, since in both, Khartoum is in charge.
