Simple designs lend themselves to duplication or near duplication, merely because of their simplicity.
P.S. I tried using the PNG format, but the file was way too big. I think that shrinking the collection picture enough to use the PNG format would make it too small to view easily.

I like the second one; it's distinctive and the colors seem appropriate. (Nile river running through desert and farmland, etc.)
Are we talking about a flag for all of OTL Sudan, the northern half, or the southern half? It makes a big difference as to what might be appropriate.
