Finally! The Peshawar Lancers Map!

Here's my idea of what PL-Europe should look like.

EDIT: Damnit, forgot the map.

How did Sweden survive?

I take it that those are post-Spanish warlord states in Iberia... ;)

1: I threw it in to fill in the map.:p

2: Yes, yes they are.

EDIT: Actually, the Moor state is a 'resettlement zone' for Morrocan berbers (to make room for the Frenchies in North Africa), and the two Spanish color states are the same for he descendents of Spanish refugees.

Why does everyone always have Britain settling the whole of Scotland but leaving out northern England?
The highlands are not the best place in the world at all...The north of England meanwhile is quite OK.

Brazil would inherit any surviving Portuguese Territories (and devastated ones too - not just because of the historical and cultural connections but also because the Brazilian Braganza Emperors were close relatives of the Portuguese Braganza Kings: Pedro II of Brazil was the maternal uncle of Louis I of Portugal.
The de Jure rights could be hampered in some places by hostile powers, but only in certain places. Plus occupying foreign territories with a clear inheritor power would be an hostile act against such power.
Side note: Pedro II was liberal-oriented.

Why would Brazil care though?
I'd imagine they would be far too occupied with their own survival and dominating S.America.

Well, I never understood why Brazil would want to conquer Spanish South America?

Beat it up, yes, conquer, not really/.

Not to be a wet blanket but is this polite? The author of this story was banned here a while ago and it just seems funny that we're screwing with his story and he can't say anything.

Just a thought, mind.

Yes and no. Royal families often have a highly developed sense of noblesse oblige and see ruling as a more a duty than a privilege. Leaving beleaugered territories on their own in tough times might be seen as the worst possible violation of their obligations.

(and yes, I am violating my own dictum, arent I?)

More arable farmland, more subjects to act as taxpayers and laborers. Why wouldn't you want to conquer if you have the resources to do so?

Very nice interpretation O Mechanical Welshman.

Thankee...

I'm planning on making an Ultimate Peshawar Lancers TL eventually. I even have the first handful of posts ready. However, my Strangerverse Britwank TL is taking precedence, and I'm already struggling with my Strangerverse Persiawank TL...
