Film Industry on the East Coast

Film productioon has to move into the studio faster. As long as films were reliant on filming with natural light the industry was bound to move south and west

Do you count Florida as East Coast? During the 1930s when Upton Sinclair was running for Governor of California on the socialist EPIC (End Poverty in California) platform he faced widespread opposition, particularly within the film industry. As Wikipedia notes:

Notable among these opponents were the heads of the major movie studios in Hollywood. This was largely due to Sinclair’s proposal to hand over idle movie studio lots to unemployed film workers to make movies of their own. In reaction, the studio heads threatened to move film operations to Florida

I've always been an advocate of Florida myself as a native myself, Mostly because, like California, Florida is hot and near everything. Maybe not in the 1920s but post-WWII? I could see Florid as a minor entertainment capital, possibly a more Latin America-influenced one. It's at risk from hurricanes but hey, Los Angeles is right on the San Andreas Fault Line so they're one to talk. Probably a pipe dream but a persistent one.
EDIT: Ninjaed:
